Well when I do work on it I try to go absolutely crazy getting everything done at once! Having played with clios a lot recently I seem to be able to rip them apart way too quick :D That D/S is the o/s one. They both have a tripod but that one has the cup external to the gearbox although mine is...
No idea yet chaps! I've only got the manifold on and it's crazy loud. I've seen the youtube videos too which don't sound brilliant but I'll get a video when the rest of the exhaust and gaskets turn up.
Cheers Dan, slowly getting there.
It's been a while but because of uni exams blah blah I hadn't done anything to the car for a couple of months....until yesterday.
Order of the day was to remove the PAS, exhaust and swap over the 182 manifold. It was all really easy to do although the grime/mud on the car was absolutely vile so...
I keep meaning to reply to your thread Stu! Car is coming along really nicely, lots of good and perfect mods to make it a real cracker on track. Surely our cars are pretty much along the same lines! I've even got a failed tripod on a driveshaft at the moment ha
Just a quick question. What awards are there if any for non-sports if any? Just wondering whether to give the old girl a scrub before coming up or be a lazy bugger and not take a day off :)
the matrix in the car? it's a complete dash out job including the dash frame. The heater hoses in the engine bay aren't particularly fun either!
Could do it in 5 hours I reckon if you remember where everything goes and are very organised
It's removing the standard fluid driven pas pump driven by the engine, looping the rack or fitting a DCI rack and changing the column to a 1.2/dci version which has electronic assistance. There's a control knob which you get form eBay which allows completely variable assistance. Search for epas...
worked it out. The climate control A/C diagram is wrong. The pin from the climate to the ecu is e3 on the grey plug. The one from the ecu to the relay is e2 on the black plug.
to finalise. Hope this if of someuse to people.
It can easily take half a day to do this.
My tips would be to use a flat blade soldering iron and cut off tiny piece of solder. Hold the SMD in place, put the tiny piece solder next to the joint and then use the iron, otherwise it just gets a...
The car is ready to go away now....almost. I just need to change the wheels and that's it.
Over the past week I've done three jobs on the car with one being slightly more exciting than the other two. Firstly I fitted the new turbo completely ignoring their fitting instructions which were...

Looking to get a slash cut tip on the DCI and the 172 just not sure which one to buy which is going to match the angle of the rear bumper.
I of course like the k-tec recessed one which claims to be 3.5" but can't find anything similar on ebay and as I'd be buying three tips I want to make sure...
you really can. It is a huge improvement I promise and while the seats are out it would be rude not to. Good shout on the head rests.
I am pretty much in bexhill constantly at the moment so you can collect the fuse thing whenever.....and those radio keys! Will have a look for the coin tray. I...
looks jolly good! Go hole hog and try to get a 182 carpet. I've got a fuse cover you can have and please please get a 182 interior with white dots instead of the 172 one with black dots. If you can get the bits for climate I'll help you fit it ;)
Nice one matey! you got that done quickly. You'll probably find the steering wheel is rubbing on the cowling so won't go back to centre. Happened to me when I fitted a 197 wheel. I have a pov spec ph2 wheel you're welcome to to just try it out.
@Martin_172 it does spool up a little quicker and I think there is marginally more torque. There is no difference in noise other than being able to hear spool up a little more in the car but the change in sound is so small you might not even notice.
Worthwhile mod definitely
@msremmert I'm going to get them individually as it's a huge amount cheaper and I'm a cheapskate. No no! Red display! Like an Audi. I love my clocks :)
I'll try and take apart some components later to get the exact sizes of a few more bits
I've been looking around the site for ages this evening and there isn't a complete list of the bulbs needed for the dash conversion. I'll put down what I know but if someone could help me fill in the blanks that would be brilliant. @McGherkin @MWright maybe you guys can help
Clocks (needle...
Have you not! It's like the plague, I can't get rid of it....I jest. Cheers though mate, people try it on sometimes. If only they knew.
Good question about the colour. It's meant to be gris boreal but it's a far lighter shade than standard so really I have no idea!
Power is standard bar the...
ha, I'm sure it is really. I just wish mine was an 80!
It's not a short shift, just a yanoo 1.0, which I absolutely love. Brilliant mod if you can get one at a decent price.
Yeah I've got the fourth mount. Very big reduction in movement. You can get a new genuine dog bone for £13 on ebay :)
