Lol, no worries. It's good to have questions!
The skuttle is definitely the best place because it's always dry in that place and won't cause leaks if the car gets caught outside in the rain. The run to the kill switch in the centre is also reduced compared to having the thru connection lower...
I didn't no although it's a bloody tight squeeze behind there to get the nut on the terminal. The difficulty is that a lot of the bulkhead at that level is double skinned or has a hollow behind it for the screen vents so your options are limited. Definitely possible to just have the top dash off...
I stripped my front loom using wiring diagrams and saved a pathetic 450 grams. Having a hair cut would be more beneficial honestly. The stuff you actually need like lights and EPAS are where the real weight is but then it's still a very small amount.
Have a look at my 172 thread. It' shows the...
I'm not but it would be very helpful for me to be on the same wavelength as the guys who are coding some of the programs, knowing what's possible, how the program actually works. I know several coders who most certainly aren't being outsourced for the reasons @172_Tom describes.
Will do, thanks...
Quick update on the car.
I've now sold my Recaros and Turinis :'( to fund my move to London.
Car smoking really badly now every time I drive it but luckily I do 2 miles a week so it's not currently a problem. Think the piston rings have gone as oil is coming out the camcover breather and going...
Google is my friend! Got it :) If you self taught I've got some hope, just want to pick up some basics in the next few months so if I put I have a basic knowledge I won't look like a clown when they ask.
Looking at trading firms which program a lot of their algorithms in C#. I'm really just...
Looking to learn some very basic c# coding as a lot of job applications I'm looking at are very interested in it.
Has anyone got experience of self learning this code? Where shall I start? I'm a very very logical person so from a brain POV it won't be a problem, just don't have any experience...
my bad, forgot to mention I had the car on a hunter about 2000 miles ago. The tracking was a touch out but nothing too bad. Of course it's all aligned now.
I've looked through all the other threads and found nothing.
Recently the DCI has developed a horrible twitch in the steering which is particularly prevalent at higher speeds and going round right hand corners. I can only describe it as the car actually veering and it feels like the steering...
Woops I forgot to attach the video to this thread.
Car is now going into winter hibernation in a barn 50 miles from me. There are a few things I need to get done on the car before it's next outing and MOT but they can all wait. Next update way into 2016!
Yes boi! I've had one in two different Clios and it's certainly worth it. Teamed with no A/C it makes a decent difference. Engine revs much more freely. I'm also going to be getting one when I can afford it.
Car is of course looking very well!
Surprisingly not very fast. I was a bit surprised.
Cheers James, it is James yeah? Great tips, exactly what I was after. That druids line did feel a bit weird I have to say so next time I'll give that a go along with the curb at Graham Hill. My instructor (not in the car in the vid) said going...
Evening chaps.
Massive thanks to @Martin. for letting me borrow his go pro and then kindly putting the video up.
Had a great time at Brands on my first proper track time and had about 20 mins of tuition so am much better than last time. Here's the vid but more hints and tips on gears, turn in...
Mine are bolt in yeah although I would prefer to have clip on ones. It came down to cost though. I haven't got a photo! the only one I don't have. They're on the angled part of the tunnel close to the rear seat box. I'll get some photos as soon as I can but the car is garaged up ATM.
Yes...
Quick get out there! The booking made me get mine finished despite the final rush being horrible
I used these for the insides and then bought just the spacer on it's own for the outsides...
I have to say this is easily the most impressive thread on here because there are real craftsman skills being used. I'd love to be able to weld and have the equipment to do such brilliant customisation.
Hats off.
Brands Hatch :D
The first track day happened finally and oh boy was it good.
I'll start with the build up to Brands. The car was nearly finished after the last update and so I booked my first evening session for the 28th although this turned out to be the biggest stress ever.
Saturday just...
