Erm.....so.....the wheel bolts were a little bit loose. There was paint on the mounting surface of the wheels where they'd been refurbed which came off and obviously made the torque not adequate.

To finish this thread off. It was the wastgate. New wastegate and no problems at all now.

Don't understand the problems people have had with the ebay ones. Fitted three now and had no problems at all with them. Just fit it using lots of window cleaner to make it easy to push the bubbles out. The CS ice scraper is rather good for this.

Those vice inserts are very cool. Do you not find the string is a little thick to get an accurate measure? I normally use fishing line with the car on the ground. I'm sure you've done all that really though!
