I'd rather give the money away than spend £30 on a piece of marginally smaller plastic. I also couldn't bring myself to spend the money for the sake of a few mm
I checked my ebay, spot on! I also have the hel ones apparently!

Just looked at the pic from start to finish Russ. Did try to read but wanted to know the next thing that happened too bad. Really is a jolly nice and thoroughly done car and I like it even more with that manifold; a true lush piece of engineering that. Where have I seen that garage before? I...
Yeah. I've used this loads of times and it's bloody good. Just have to be careful of the paint but once the wire gets hot it's like a knife through butter. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wire-Bonded-Windscreen-Removal-Screens-Cheesewire-Kit-/300525547065?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item45f8b7ee39...
I don't know anything about building a sprint car but the 182 has a flat boot floor for the exhausts and rolled rear arches. Otherwise they are the same. 172 body shell is the same as any clio but again has rolled rear arches.
Has the bolt actually stripped or has the cage broke on the captive nut? If it's just the cage rip that out with a screwdriver and put a socket it to hold the nut in place as you loosen off the bolt.
Dropping the whole subframe is easiest for a box change. You'll give yourself a million times...
Do you really need sliders? I've never had to replace sliders on any of my 1*2 calipers. It's quite the opposite of a must! Just clean them up, chuck some lube on and put a new seal kit in. Jobs a goodun. When you take the piston out if it's ratty then replace it but some light scoring doesn't...
I'm going to be sad when I run out of parts to fit.
Yeah they did make a big difference. Just need to get the rear pip changed and it should be looking good.
Here's a little drawing for you! Everything in pink I've got and everything above is missing. I have now sorted the problem by drilling...
So am I Steve! When I first started I always found loctite gave me the piece of mind to give more complex jobs a go but now I very rarely use the stuff.
If you're changing the rear springs then I wouldn't worry about torquing up the bolts. Just do them tight enough but not too tight. If you want to have some piece of mind pop a dab of loctite 243 on the lower shock bolt. No need to take either of the wheels off.
@AlexW Stop arranging dates when my fair lady is up! Would like to see the removal of the airbag ECU as I've got only a couple of wires coming out of mine now but don't want to screw up the last little bit before I even get to drive the thing.
@Martin. Best to get everything done when it's in...
Not much to update on the car at the moment as I'm a bit short on time but there are a couple of bits.
I'm having a bit of trouble sourcing the top mounts for the rear shocks. I've spoken to KW who have been really helpful but they can't supply the top mount on it's own so are having a look...
You did it! Good to see it all come out so quickly. I had to throw a mars bar in Alex's car once to make sure he didn't die. Don't buy the EPAS rack I want or I'll be very very sad.
How longs it going to be like this mate? Once this coursework is out the way I'm a bit more free until April to...
They only set me back £80 as well so I am rather please with them. Had a hilarious moment this morning when I pulled out out of the garage. Because the top of the rear dampers isn't bolted in the car bounced like a kangaroo for about 30 seconds before I stopped it.
They're gone now!!
Got some...
Everything is really easy and cheap to fix. Just look for air in the fuel line returning to the fuel filter. It could be early signs of injector failure which can be pricey.
Other than that I can't think of much which can't be sorted for under £50.
Car is sorn at the mo until I go back to work in May/June; that's what the days start!! So stoked for the summer it's unreal.
I have the same disease. Do what I do and lock money away in p2p lending; really difficult to impulse spend it then. My student loan is not used for drinking like most...
That idea by James is a jolly good one. You will need spring compressors otherwise if you want to avoid the top nut becoming a missile. Put top mounts on coilovers today and was able to compress the helper spring enough by hand to allow the top mount to be screwed on without compressors.
