Today I had another pathetically unproductive day. Did two clio things today
Picked up the wheels from the garage. Ohh man they look cool!
Then the AP Coilovers came half way through the day. I'll let the pics do the talking but I have 2 problems with the APs. I need a bolt and huge...
Is is possible for me to get on the rollers as early as poss. I forgot it was this weekend and I think Lauren will not be particularly happy if we spend the whole weekend farting around with cars as we've got brands on sunday too!
@MJClio Thanks matey. There's light at the end of the tunnel! Will do, hopefully it all goes swimmingly though.
@cpaterson76 I love the spreadsheet; keeps reminding me that I have to only do free mods for a while! Glad you like the green, found some hilarious neon paint for the cage so can't...
The above comment about the cruise control is wrong.
That's a non cruise control squib, both yellow and green connectors are for the airbag. Grey is for horn on the steering wheel and the as Carl said the black and red plug into the stalk and are also for the horn.
@sburrell93 That's only because there are no new and shiney bits on this! I've got a spread sheet for this one so I keep myself in check; the total spend number is always haunting every purchase.
@benji93 I am probably also playing mind games with myself. From a quick bit of nerd chemistry...
As always Martin it's looking jolly good. Especially those figures at the wheels being what a standard one would put out at the fly!
Bummer about the gearbox though; could always be worse though :)
Leave it to the insurer.
@bearne1 I've never seen that; is it more of a "leave it yeah" when you think people are trying their luck. An engineer can't tell how fast a car was hit, these guys are trained in the repair industry, not crash analysis. He can only offer an opinion and never give an...
@imprezaworks That filter was the single best mod to that car hands down. I had a ktec style induction before that. Nah, heat soak isn't really a problem with the grill there. Less pipe bends, better power :)
@Timmsy There's a guy just beyond Brighton who's breaking a 172 so probably has the remaining bits you need. APs should be with me Wednesday and depending on when I get back I might fit them very quickly :D
@imprezaworks I'm glad too!! That intake sounds absolutely mean though! I'll get an...
@M.C.. Cheers matey. I watched that video yesterday but didn't realise you could remove the buckles. Never lay my mits on a harness before.
The plats just go on the otherside of the hole or do you have to weld them on?
ps; where did you get that huge Renault Sport sticker on the back window...
I think I'm being a total pen 15 but how do you actually go about mounting the harness'. I'm looking at getting some 4 points for my car which is going to have a cage in the back with harness bar. Two questions.
Do all harness' have the ability to mount to a harness bar and if they do what...
I'm sure a summer will turn into a longer term affair :D
No worries. Lol, Lauren went around with a set of discs, an engine cover and a flywheel in her boot for months and didn't say anything!
I can't remember if the headlining is the same but I wasn't very careful with this one; ripped and...
;) I'd forgotten about that! Not H&Rs but they'll do I suppose :) I do only buy bargains though. Shopped around for the door pulls yesterday just to save 20p.
Today I have a little but rather boring update. Sunday was meant to be my work day but I felt brain dead so the product was likely to be...
Got the APs for this car as at the moment it's on standard springs which make it really high. The photo with the green bits I also lowered it just to see what it would look like, then I got excited! APs are meant to be soft for track but I'll give them a go and if they are I'll get some stiffer...
Cheers Iain. Wouldn't do it for a road car but my inner child is going crazy because it's a track car!
LOL The irony. It's okay, I didn't have a job then......ohh I don't now.....something went right though hmm. Nah I decided I need to enjoy at least a bit of the money I earned and Lauren...
Few little updates today.
I gave myself a day off studying and decided to take a crack at a few jobs on the cup. There were so many things to do I really wasn't sure what to get done.
The rear wheels looked totally lost in the arches so decided to sort that. I had some 15mm hub spacers from the...
The plates the chap supplied are meant to be bolted from the underneath so the car is clamped in between them so there shouldn't be any welding involved. If you put the spreaders in the car I'm not sure!
I might have missed it matey but what was up with the engine in the blue cup? Bet those bent bits make it a nightmare to pull it apart, chop chop chop!
Lovely this. Good to see some things which haven't been done before. Using it as inspiration for my cup.
What did you use to wrap the wire with when you ran it down the sides? Mine looks grim at the moment because it's all running down the sides still.
