ok talking about consumables like leads, dizzy caps / rotor arms, stats etc... fitted a patent clutch (relined one) and didnt really drive it long enough to see if it had a short lifespan or not, ut i reckon id go for the geniune one if i replaced major parts like that again.
when you need new bits for your car, where do you go? halfords, local motor spares shop, online? even the dreaded reno;)?! just wondered what you think on the so-called patent parts available from motor spares people, what are they like? always used them before on my old cars, but are they...
Ive had this for a while now, and i just put it down to an over-efficient ECU tryin to save me as much fuel as poss by gettin the mixture as lean as possible. But having sat in other cars (inc. a Mk1 Ph3 clio ) whcih idle smooth, im wondering what may be at fault?
It will idle slightly rough...
sorry to be dumb but i must have missed something - if you undo the bottom hose and stick a hose in the top rad entry, that will flush just the rad yeah? but then you say do the same in the bottom hose - you mean put the hose into the bottom hose going to cyl. block? will a normal hose have...
I tried to flush the system today, but my mate not having any axle stands meant i couldnt get under the car to do the drain plug on the cylinder block. I tried to do it from above but was too bloody hard!
gonna have another go tomorrow - is it necessary to undo the plug or can you get away with...
i reckon they all look a bit max powerish toss - got blue visions in mine but you cant see the blue, just crsip white light- it lokos really cheap to see a kind of fake blue light (esp with the seatbelt pads, seat covers etc... ;) )
rob - RSR is on bromley common road (A21) about 30seconds drive from my house (quite convenient!) - do you know bromley college? well if you do its on that road, heading towards farnborough - itll be on your left just before a macdonalds, and a shell garage on your right - big place, cant miss...
im still watying for the blame on my car to be sorted out from last december - ive got almost identical damage on mine, but i have a much worse dent in my rear 1/4 - i thought yours looked like it sould not need a new panel?!
anyway, my quotes were £700 labour+parts (undisclosed to me) and...
apex have been reccomended to me by quite a few that ive spoken troo, eibach for driving ride improvement, though youre prob not after that with 17s on...
just read your latest posts, no im not out to be a dick on the roads, or to drive dangerously, i wouldnt try this like at 7 in the eve like i see some knob ends doing - its more a case of i want to know that if my car ever started to slide out or do something other than go in the direction im...
some good stuff here ppl - lol @ rob, imagine doing that at queen marys roundabout! prob could learn some stuff though at crittals corner, by your work? is the lift-off quite progressive - i.e. if im going round the roundabout and slowly take off the gas, its not suddenly gonna jump round is it...
yeah tried that when i was just 17 and learning to drive, was surprised how good it was, but so feckin expensive in relatino to the actual driving time...plus they were really arsey about makin the car slide on purpose etc.! i hope theyre not all like that!
how did you learn driving skills then? you need to know how to correct yourself in a mess, and how did you learn that? by just gettin in a mess and crossing your fingers it would work, then realising you could control it so trying to get in a mess?!
dont wanna come across as pessimistic cos im...
Now i have the odd burn on the roads, but i wouldnt have the confidence to drive the car near its limits, and also dont even know what the feckin limits are!!! reading / watchin the posts / vids around, it got me thinkin - how do you know the limit of your car, be it a cup, valver, RT, etc...
ok right, im a bit confused about this whole panel business - i can see how an innduction kit can improve engine performance through cooler air and increased flow, but by just paying more for something that might filter a few more particles, how can this be an attractive mod? surely the renault...
i think they are right, well perhaps not on yours as dpopping to a stall level isnt too normal is it, but both my 1.4 8v clio and my mums pug 106 1.1 do it while idling, its the ECU leaning off the mixture as much as poss while idling as far as i know!
