There are also a number of other explanations for this. Plugs, lambda or leads. I would start by taking the throttle body off and cleaning it, taking out the plugs and giving them a brush off with a spark plug brush (£3 from halfords)
This kind of job is very easy and if you can tie a shoe...
This is standard "Something bad happened so something must be wrong"
I wouldn't worry at all. Unless it's hit a wire or bent a pipe. Doesn't sound like that's happened so carry on camping
No cat so not worries there.
Here are the plugs from earlier. They aren't in order but the black one is from number 4 (next to cambelt) I notice 1 of them is a touch lean, this one is from the inlet side so I would expect this a touch. Other 2 are somewhere in the middle.
Unfortunately it...
took the plugs out. plug closest to the cambelt is sooty black. Changed plugs and it's still missing.
I didn't take the DTC's when the light was flashing but have previously and there was nothing extra.
Coil pack is brand new
My friend had this on his starlet, thrust washers had worn which caused swarf in the oil, blocked the oil holes in the crank, wore the big ends. Needed to be rebuilt. Happened within 500 miles as it was a fresh forged build. Oil should have been dropped a couple of times in the first few hundred...
is it like in my post. I'm looking for a solution as well. I have 98 map

Mine has had the TB cleaned.
Still haven't been able to finish mine off but I've got a hole in the arch liners with 100mm ducting. Will have deflector plates made from ali behind but these aren't fitted yet. Brakes didn't bake at brands the other day like they have done previously.
I had to remove the carbon canister, bend...
Agreed chip. It took him hours to build and make sure it was all perfect. It's not for the feint heated by any means. He's got a couple of spare engine laying around, waiting for the day the crank bearings collapse. For the money I'd get this...
100% depends what you are after; loud or quiet, decat or standard.
decat will make any system considerably louder.
Scorpian rs192 is suppose to be one of the quietest on the after market
ktec do various systems with and without centre silence
yozza copy is sold by ktec also
standard brand...
easy peasy
find out the diameter of the pipe on the cat back
get a stainless tube the same, stainless so it lasts
cut off the doughnut on the cat
get it welded on dead straight. I paid about £20
mock it up on the car and cut the excess off
bob's your uncle
A megasquirt can be built and save you a heap of dosh. My friends just done his for a mx5 T. With a base map you can make adjustments yourself easily from what he's said
At the weekend I cleaned the crank sensor to no avail. Took the map sensor out and it was still spluttering all over the place

Here's a little video of what going on. I checked the injectors and got this

Help me fix this, it's...
don't worry about the mileage. Worry about who it's been owned by. Mines got circa 100k on and is great as it's been enthusiast owned all it's life. The one I had before had 80k on, not enthusiast owned and was a complete dog.
My friends ph1 172 with 112k has 1 owner from new with a full...
Unfortunately often people make comments about stuff like this when they have absolutely no idea about how a claim works.
Injury can usually be claimed as long as there is evidence to prove it is genuine. The key word in that sentence is evidence. If it is not there nothing can be done. The...
Revs much better in the top end and power gains are small but I have no ideas of figures.
Standard is only a 200 cell though so isn't massively restrictive.
mine is doing exactly the same thing. Misfiring from idle all the way to about 2/2500. New CP, plugs, leads. I'm going to clean my crank sensor before I spend anything.
Whilst enjoying the peace and quiet of the bathroom throne I read an interesting article in auto express about Techron fuel additive. Now I normally think these things do very little as I have never noticed any difference after a bottle of redex. This one has had an independent test carried out...
You have the option of the cup kit, volvo/renault 5 bracket (I have this but you will have to have PAS delete too) or you can use a PMS kit (I have one for sale and you should buy it!!)
