I thought if they were fitted they were testable. My 182 has passed for several years with them blanked at various different garages and some MOT only stations.
My dci is an expression so pretty basic like yours. Best mod I did was the 1*2 interior as it made the car much quieter. Also 1*2 xenons.
I've gone oem so got the 15" alloys from a dynamique for £50 and the black spoiler. Watch out for your 16" wheels upgearing the car too much. I suspect your...
Didn't realise how cheap they were. WP will be done at the same time as I've got 5l type D spare in the garage.
Gates kit comes with the correct bolt for the Pulley and the autodata instructions which as we all know are very good.
Is the waterpump held in with e torx bits or normal bolts.
Thanks for all the suggestions. It's not a metallic noise and I checked and greased the calipers recently.
This is the best video I can get at the moment. It's at about 12 seconds when I go over a bit of rough road. In real life it sounds deeper and less rattly. It's more of a quick thudding...
You will need to find out what ET (ofset), PCD (bolt spacing), how many bolt holes, how wide, and the spigot size (centre hole)
Not sure on the specs of your clios hubs I'm affraid so can't help there
Have you fitted 172 suspension (hubs, wishbones and shafts already)?
I would go for the 172 if the above has been done which I assume it would have been if it's a proper conversion.
If you have a 1.2 shaft then I'd see if a 172 CV fits (splines, length) and fit that.
J&R CV joints are a...
Just the cambelt this time. Current WP has no problems so isn't worth the extra expense at the moment. Will do it at the next change in a couple of years most likely.
Now I know there are loads of threads about knocking and it being the top mounts.
I have this clonk in the DCI when going over bumps at any speed above about 10. In other threads I've read about it being when you're on full lock etc but nothing about speed.
ARB bushes and links are new.
Is...
3 good tests for wheel bearings.
Easiest is to take the car for a long drive and then feel each of the wheels close to the centre cap in pairs (front, front) then (rear, rear). Both sides should be the same temperature. If one is hotter than the corresponding opposite side then it's like the...
Mist washer jets, clear indicators, working thermometer for dci.
Orange indicators and broken thermometer for 182
Changed ARB inner bushes and droplinks on dci. What fool designed the inner bush fixings?
Golf took less than 20 mins. Clio takes hours.
There are a few upgrades, flywheel, induction, yanoo, epas . Mainly it's had belts, clutch, 10 tyres in the past 18 months, gearbox rebuild, driveshafts, ALL suspension inc wishbones, discs and pads (CL and brembo) all fluids and every little noise investigated and seen to.
They aren't a money...
Couldn't wait to see the back of my last 182.
My Lupo I couldn't bear to sell for years and it would pain me to see it in an uncared for condition or with damage. My friends lupo had so much love and attention, needed for nothing. Sold it and 3 months later I did an HPI check and it was...
I just keep all my cars going regardless.
Any RS is just a money pit. Last year my 182 had £2.5k spent on it (not by me and with no labour charge, just parts) this years it's probably close to £1000. God knows what it's worth, £2k maybe but I'd never be able to replace it for that so just...
That's completely normal.
Had one fall out above me once when the fluid was still in. Worst shower ever.
When changing clutches I just take the strut, hub and shaft out as one unit.
It does make a noticeable difference without a decat specific map although what you say about getting a good exhaust 100% stands
I run my 182 without any EML
Just put the cat back on for the MOT
If you get a cat back just sleeve the cat
Best test for a wheel bearing is to jack the car up. Put your hand on the spring and spin the wheel. Exactly like this chap. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bzB-V8CrSn8
my gearbox hums a little. It was rebuilt with new bearings and still does it. Hasn't got worse.
Leave it until it breaks or...
Thanks Mic, I've read about the bolt for the freewheeling pulley.
I haven't got the kit yet, will it come with a replacement bolt or would you use the original.
Hi Alex
got to do a couple of these soon.
Whats the rough method so I don't screw it up?
Take the aux belt off, covers. I'm in new waters after that though.
Assume I pop in the locking tools (do I need to rotate the engine by hand first to a certain point?)
Loosen the tensioner and take the...
