    gnarrrrrrrrgh FFS! (insurance)

Call up insurance companies. I had real trouble insuring a valver at 19 with less than a years driving experience, 0NCB, and only a couple of companies would quote. Eventually ended up paying £2000.00 with Adrian Flux TPF&T. I couldn't get anyone to quote online..

    Unlocking OEM Stereos

Is there any chance this can be done for the factory fitted radio from my '94 valver? I have the radio, but no code, it'd be nice if it worked... Cheers :)

Problems changing foglight bulb in valver

I'm not sure if that's possible as the screws are recessed into a plastic surround? I'll see what i can do with it on Saturday, and i'm going to order some new fogs from K-TEC Racing as mine are beginning to rust on the inside..

Problems changing foglight bulb in valver

How do you 'drill it out'? Just use a small drill, and drill through the middle of the screw to make it turn?

Problems changing foglight bulb in valver

I've just tried to change the bulb in one of my fog lights in my valver. I managed to get one screw undone but it was VERY tight, but the other screw was even tighter and eventually it gave way, now it's all chewed up and i can't unscrew it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can get...

    Strange amp remote-on problem

My budget is around £200 i'd say. I know the JBL subs are good but i just want something that's really gonna sound different to the rest. Something punchy enough so you can feel it in your chest. I thought of sticking a 10" sub under each seat so i could really 'feel' the bass, but i don't...

    Strange amp remote-on problem

I've already got JBL components upfront powered by the Mutant amp, just need a sub. If i was to get a new amp for the sub i'd go for mono as i hear they are far better. I could be wrong though.

    Strange amp remote-on problem

I'm thinking of ditching the Fusion kit to be honest, i haven't been overly impressed by my Fusion Sub at all. Can anyone recommend a decent sub and a decent mono amp that'll give really solid performance? I want something punchy for dance music which will also handle the likes of R&B with...

    Strange amp remote-on problem

Liking the suggestions folks, thanks! What would be the purpose of the relay? I'm guessing to provide a slightly higher voltage/current with the existing remote-on cable to activate the relay? The amps are wired using 4 AWG cabling from the battery to the capacitor, then 2 AWG (i think)...

    Strange amp remote-on problem

The amps don't have any form of 'standby' LED, but there is power going to them. They are all earthed to the earth terminal on my capacitor, which is then earthed to the chassis of the car. The fusion amp doesn't have any problems with earthing and they are all connected to the same point...

    Strange amp remote-on problem

I've got three amps in my car currently. A fusion amp for my subwoofer and two Mutant NW280SP amps. The two mutant amps are for front & rear speakers. I have a remote cable running from the heat unit which arrives at the fusion amp first, and i double this up with a shorter cable and insert it...

Spotted a Black Clio as above this morning at about 8am on my way to work. Had a spoiler, blacked out lexus lights, cliosport sticker in the side window, thats about all i saw. I was going the other way, don't think you spotted me though.

    Aftermarket pedals

Sod that... i really don't want to drill through my pedals, i never make any irreversible modifications to my car, i feel guilty for some reason, lol! Are there not any pedals i can attach without drilling that won't fall off after 5 minutes?

    Clio RSi insurance

I had the same problem insuring my valver at 19, with under a years driving experience and no NCB at all. Most places i called up seemed shocked i was asking for a quote on a valver seeing as though i was a 'new' driver in their eyes, so most places refused to quote or wanted a stupid amount to...

    Aftermarket pedals

My plastic/rubber grip from my clutch pedal has just fallen off in my valver. I want to get some aftermarket pedals, but do you *HAVE* to drill holes into the pedals to fit them? I want them to be sturdy so ideally i'd like to attach them with screws/bolts, just wondering whether the holes are...

    converting manual sunroof to electric

Do it :) My MK1 sunroof doesn't rattle much if you just tilt it upwards. It rattles a lot more when it slides backwards though..

    Unlucky or what

W*nkers! They did exactly the same thing to my valver, on the drivers door. They destroyed my lock and yanked it out completely leaving a gaping hole, and after having no luck with the lock they bent my door back and unlocked the car that way :( Fortunately, the car had no battery in it and it...

Another hot day, another steering wheel destroyed

My valver has covered 115k miles and my steering wheel is still in very good condition, the thumb grips don't look worn at all. Don't seem to have any problems with the baking heat either. Perhaps they made the later steering wheels from different (cheaper?) materials? If you lot are all...

Mk1 clio, i want it to flash

I can't believe nobody has tried this! I think i'll have to see if i can get my hands on a stalk from a saxo or something and see if i can connect it up.. maybe that would work... Hmm!

What temperature and pressure should oil be in a valver....

On idle, my oil temp is at 100 on the guage, and my pressure is at 1 bar. That's when the car has warmed up though. When i first start the oil pressure is right near the top of the guage and gradually drops down. As you know though, my engine runs slightly warmer than yours so your oil temp will...

I agree. Looks really tacky and poorly built as well. It'll break in no time..

Mk1 clio, i want it to flash

Love the smart comments! I've been doing that for ages now, and half the time if i try to click on/off quickly to 'flash' someone, it sometimes doesn't click off properly, and i end up blinding people. I have Rally bulbs in my car, due to the bonnet covering half my light. Most of the MK1...

Removing the front and rear speakers

You need a 'torx' screwdriver. Most places should have them, i know maplin do. They sell sets so just find a set with a T20 attachment in.
