Hi there!
I recently filled up my valver with oil as it was running very low, but annoyingly i've filled it up too much. The oil level is about an inch above the 'max' level on the dipstick, which i know is not a good thing.
I've experienced a serious lack of power recently, and i thought...
And where are the pics? Where are the contact details?
He says pics to follow in the next 2 days, well there's only 2 days left of the auction!
If it's real then fook me sideways!
I'd be worried about those stains on the front bumper - looks like it might have overheated at some point and coolant has stained the bumper.
Happened to my valver before! Check in the engine bay for rusty coloured stains everywhere.
With regards to the car, i believe it's all been covered...
So if the ECU is left out of the car for a few hours then it should be exactly the same when you put it back in? Is that what you're saying?
Even if you've plugged another ECU in whilst it was out?
I thought that, but i floored it on the way to work and watched the RPM's, they didn't seem to raise very quickly, whereas i'm sure they used to...
Hmmm, maybe it'll get quicker soon.
What's all this remapping business? Will that help the ECU get the best out of the engine? or will it learn...
Sorry, i should have made myself clearer.
I meant disconnecting the ECU and then plugging it back in afterwards.
-TA- - if the ECU lost its memory would there be a decrease in power? Does it re-learn again?
The reason i ask is because i disconnected by ECU at the weekend for a couple of...
Just disconnect the earth from the battery, and then undo the bolts on the chassis where it earths to, and give them a damn good clean. Clean both the connector and the area around where it connects to for any dirt.
I'm not sure whether a faulty earth causes a battery to drain quickly but it's...
I don't see you giving any advice to the guy, so unless you know better i think you're the one that needs to 'pipe down'.
I'm only talking from my experience.
One of my valvers used to make that noise.
Someone mentioned it might the the 'release bearing', but i have no idea at all.
There was certainly nothing wrong with the clutch it was VERY strong and didn't slip at all.
My valver makes tiny flames without any additional kit, just a decat, when it pops, but the fuel ignites in the manifold not at the end of the exhaust, so the flames aren't very big by the time they reach the end.
If you want flames get some sort of gas/fuel pumped into the exhaust just before...
Has brand new spark plugs already, as well as new dizzy cap and rotor arm and HT leads.
Is the injector cleaner something you put into the petrol? I'll grab some of that.
The ole lamb' = lambda sensor? Is that the sensor just before the cat?
ISCV - How do i clean this?
Thanks for the...
This isn't really much of a problem for me, i just have a small problem where on a cold start, if i leave it to idle, it will start off smooth, then it will begin to chug a little, then the revs will kick back up and everything will be fine again.
If i give it a few revs when its chugging it...
One is an oil breather pipe i think and the other seems to go to the idle control valve as suggested above.
I think that's right but i could be wrong.
Doubt very much it's got anything to do with the heating though..
I don't think it's too unusual for it to go flat unless you give it a good run around. Just leaving it idling won't really charge the battery that much. You need to take it for a drive around, ideally down a bypass or something to keep the revs high, and that'll keep it charged up nicely.
If...
*Gulp*
Here's hoping i don't have to make a claim with Adrian Flux before my policy is up. I seriously doubt i'm going to renew my policy with them next year.
They've been alright so far but i haven't claimed with them. No doubt they'd find something on my car i didn't declare, like a...
Spotted a very nice blue valver last night with shiny turbine wheels in Loughborough, visiting the Loughborough Cruise.
Heard it roar as it left the car park :)
Anyone from here? I'm sure i've seen a picture of it on here somewhere..
Probably doesn't help much, but on my valver i have a straight through system from the engine down pipe to the back box. I have a de-cat pipe on, and it costs me £10 to have my cat put back on when it's time for an MOT.
With regards to pops, it's probably the loudest thing i've ever heard, it...
Just take the old bulb out and take it to halfords or wherever sells car bulbs, you have to change the entire unit including the black plastic surround, you can't pull the bulb out of the middle without removing the metal contact parts from the plastic shell as the +ve and -ve wires from the...
