I owned my valver for 2 years and it was absolutely spot on. Never had any serious problem with it, and i found it to be EXTREMELY reliable, even in winter. Has always started first time, every time.
Unfortunately though, after 121k of pretty hard miles, the circlip went in the gearbox, and...
Spotted you in Loughborough last night, first time i've seen you around!
Could have sworn i saw a racing blue 182 pass by the Chinese, then when you came back again i thought it was my mate from Hinckley as he's got one too, only realised you were Wills brother just after you'd passed when i...
Yeah they're hard to get rid of but hardly any of them are impossible to get rid of!
I've had the same OS on my PC for around 3 years now (XP Pro) and i've had my fair share of viruses, mainly from downloading 'Keygens' from fileshare applications and running the Executable, only to find it's...

Read it and weep.
Mine crunches into 5th, can't get third gear anymore, and it makes crunching/rattling noises when driving along in first, second, or fourth.
The joys of having a fooked gearbox!
I've been wanting to do this for a while. Thought it would be pretty mental to mount a 10" sub under each front seat. I think they might just about fit under my valver seats as there's loads of room in there.
The sub you linked to is only 20cm and the amp puts out 75W RMS, so not very...
Looks pretty mint to be honest, and i couldn't believe the price either considering no rust and the low mileage!
I'd be a bit weary about the mileage, seems genuine and as you say seemed a nice guy, but just make sure it is genuine.
Coolant could just need changing, it's common for the...
Amir (AmirClio) came over and had a look at it this evening. Looks pretty terminal, there were loads of metal shards in the gearbox oil, so it's screwed.
Therefore, looking for a willy engine & box!
Stan, please PM what you got.
Get underneath the car, you'll see it right near where the exhaust goes up into the engine.
If its there, check to see how loose it is. Mine was totally shot, replaced it with a new one and it hadn't made much difference to be honest, tempted to replace it with something a bit tougher..
I'd love to do it but it'd have to look better than what the guy did in the link above. Looks like a bit of a bodge/rushed job to the honest, doesn't really have a very professional finish. Like the way the DVD player is just shoved into the head unit section...
It'd need to be majorly tidy...
I need to find where the sump plug is in the gearbox, i'm guessing it has fallen out and i've lost all my oil.
If that's the case then i'll fill it back up with oil and see what happens...
If it's fecked, then it's willy engine time!!
Owned mine for 2 years and it's on 120k, the only thing to go wrong on mine is the clutch, needed replacing.
Gearbox may have just died though, waiting to figure out whats wrong, but the engine has been absolutely spot on, and started first time every time since day 1. :)
Sounds good, where can i pick one up from?
I was having a gander at the valver last night and noticed a huge patch of oil on the driveway from underneath the gearbox.
On closer inspection, i found a strange looking hole on the bottom near to where all the oil has come from... can anyone...
How much would i be looking at to replace all of the engine mounts, edde?
I'm sick of the movement in my engine it drives me nuts.
Could a dodgy gearbox mount/worn gearbox mount cause slipping clutch problems, even on a brand new clutch?
I've had issues with my clutch for ages now, even...
I know it seems like a logical explanation but my valver has been fine up until Saturday until these problems appeared. I've already tried to stop my engine rocking by having a new dogbone mount fitted but it didn't help much, plus i've heard it's really difficult to get it to stop rocking...
Which mount do you think could cause a problem like this?
The dogbone mount is quite new. Having said that my engine rocks about all over the place, but it's been doing that ever since i bought it 2 years ago, which suggests my mounts are screwed anyway.
Was driving back from Lincoln on Saturday with 3 passengers and loads of luggage in the boot and drive fairly calmly most of the way back. Had to overtake a few lorries on the way, and as most of the valver owners on CS will know, you have to drop a fair few gears when you have a car full to get...
"nylon release fork pivot bush" - What and where is this?
If i had a stretched clutch cable, would that not cause the side effects that i'm experiencing?
Before i had a new clutch, the existing one was **very** heavy, made your leg ache sitting in traffic it was so bad, must've been an...
I wish my clutch worked right :(
Ever since the garage replaced it, it hasn't been right.
If i try to pull away quickly (ie at lights, junctions, etc), the clutch slips really badly. I tested the clutch by driving at aroudn 30mph, put it in 5th, and floored it, but the clutch didn't slip at...
Don't wanna sound like a miserable old c*nt but i just thought i should say this... an MOT test is there for a reason and is performed every year to ensure your car is roadworthy and safe, for the safety of you and those around you.
Now most those points i'm not too bothered about, the engine...
