its a servo motor that changes the flow of air past the matrix, very labour intensive to have repaired, the part is pretty cheap, might have been 10 hours labour or something silly. Try messing with it with the air speed off, tends to be intermittent for some time until eventually the gears...
to see if the exhaust is blowing, cover it with your hand (gloved preferably) and listen for hissing as it pressurizes, if it hisses its blowing, if it doesn't pressurize its broken somewhere.
well his sister mainly, but must be a pain having all that trouble with him all the time, im sure his mum thinks he is boy wonder and it was matt who was trying to rip him off.
Seems like he probs bought the bits used / for a lot less. Be better to have just admitted it really. Lets hope the workmanship is ok, otherwise your back to square 1. Ive heard some bad reports, people like that are always the same sadly. feel sorry for his mum and sister tbh.

only if its foul water or salt water, otherwise usually cat C depending on the level. If its above the seats its generally C. Looks to me like it will probs need a UCH etc etc thats why he isn't finishing it. $$$$$$$$$
id rather have a grand in my back pocket, can rent a car and pay for the repairs yourself. no point in buying a relatively cheap to repair from a dealer. If it was an m5 i might see the sense.
not financially worth doing for them as on paper they would sell very few and due to its fairly complex design development cost would be pretty high i imagine.
