Possibly advise you have spoken to a specialist that says the brake switch is a common failure on these vehicles, and how would fitting replacement genuine parts cause a problem? if the service manager has 1/2 a brain he would know its not related.
the non RS dashes have not got the rubberised plastics. the centre section is glued in and can't really be removed. Not sure if the trophy had the rubberised plastics, the 182 had more glitter in in than the 172 as well.
i would get an AA inspection on anything that i was spending my hard earned on if i didn't know exactly what to look for. If not just have a thorough look round it and drive of it. Checking all electrics etc.
the cog wears on a servo motor setup. you might find it to change when you turn the fan off too as its not putting strain against the gate. As said the part is cheap but all the dash needs to come out and is something silly like 12 hours labour.
Im going to refurb the white steels on the rallye. Ive looked at painting the wheels in the guides section and ive done a fair bit of painting myself, just wondering how long should i leave the primer before painting, and how long between coats of paint, and how long before i laquer?
thanks
