are you getting genuine ones? Might just be bad luck, Lowering a car does put more strain on them but yours is hardly lowered and i remember fred saying they ran something extremely low and saw heavy track use, they lasted over 100k iirc.
For my office wall, looking for an arty type one, probably RS 172/182/v6 or a nice one for a meet, hoping for laura to print me it up once ive got a nice one.
8 times out of 10 its the actual horn itself, and the other 2 times its the steering wheel slip ring. Get a multimeter and check its getting a feed, if so its the horn at fault, it is a very very common problem.
the bearing often collapses before the interval i would recommend doing the belt with the kit (comes with pulleys etc) its not cheap but if your aux belt does come off/break it nearly always (on the 172's and 182's) takes the cambelt with it and that means bent valves etc.
Likely to be written off, if you dont want it to be go to an independent bodyshop and get a quote and insist on using them should bring the cost to around 500-600.
some of these look great, would like one of the engine one above the other way up so you can read the renault sport lettering. Would quite like pics of clios with the wheels off showing suspension etc as well or underneath.
from what i can gather its usually due to the bearing in the pulley failing. So you shouldn't really drive it until its been replaced, has the aux belt been done recently?
Hi chaps, looking for a bit of advice, are all the alternators on the 172's and 182's the same with exception of the cup?
ive got a ph1 172 one but a chap on here has given me the number from his old faulty one and the numbers don't match.
any advice appreciated.
thanks
