I would sell the car, pay off the finance and get something cheaper to run.
This is what i done, got rid of the 182 after five yrs, really loved that car, but now spend £38 a week petrol compared to £90 a week in the clio.
Buying a house, is an investment, throwing money at a car is not worth...
If I was going to buy a Clio 1#2 after a CTR, I would of gone for a 172 cup or 182 Trophy.
They are great hot hatches, but any CTR i have raced, has never left me, they are a touch quicker but thats it.
Start modding and you wont able to stop.
I dont understand how the insurance on a 182 is £200 more than 172 cup. Who you with?
I would go for a 172 cup. I've drove both st and st montune, not really a match on the cliosport, especially for the handling.
Looks like a cup packed 182. Just check suspension struts to be sure.
If youre going to lower it, you would wish you had the non cup packs, better coilover choice.
Go for brembo HC disc and DS2500 pads with braided hoses and uprated fluid up front, the rear set up will be fine, just make sure the rear disc and pads arent worn out.
I would give it time, make sure you have priced the swift at a reasonable price
and the have a look at the 182's for sale on here, some bargains and you can also look at the users profile and see how they have looked after it.
I know people dont think its worth that amount, but if he took off the induction kit, steering wheel, 4 pot brakes etc and sold seperately then he could sell the RED CLIO alittle cheaper and make his money on parts.
Also service done, cambelt, new clutch and still tax, thats a fair amount of...
Hello Dan
I believe the 172 cup turini's are ET 37
I know the Speedline turini's are ET 35 and ET 40.
Also the Cup and Trophy turini centre caps do not fit the Speedline Turini's.
You are better off looking for a second hand set of cup turini's on here, getting them refurbed.
Just wondering, dont seem to get alot of non packed 182's, was wondering whether they bought out konigsports coilies for the cup pack's.
How you finding them?
Adjustable height and damping?
This setup with the Koni shock, Ebiach springs, are what Mark Fish recommends. Wanted to get this setup for my 182, but couldnt cos of the spacing.
Good luck with it, maybe some reviews in the future.
Youre better off walking away from it, selling your vr6 estate, and then buying a 182 if thats what you want. Plenty about. Just make sure it fully serviced, and has the cambelt/Aux belt done.
When looking for one, I would look for a 182 with cup packs, has all the lux plus cup...
Hello
Has anyone experienced any problems with these, and if so what have you done with them.
Also is there anywhere decent to get them refurbed or are they sent back to H&R uk?
Any info would be brilliant.
So last week I got the ktr topmounts fitted, along with the remap with pops and bangs.
Still need to get photo's but the remap is good, has freed the engine up alittle and has sorted out the lumpy issues and flatspots.
The topmounts have improved the turn in, just need to get the car set up...
I dont really understand the myth of the Yozza being the loudest. In one of my Threads, I went to brandshatch and got it tested at 95db, that was with a cat.
Then went to a RR, and with a certain clio running a miltek and decat, against mine with a yozza and decat, his was as loud, if not a...
