Thinking same yesterday, personally wouldnt free up much cash against ph1 172. Sat in friends willy 3 after fitting clutch cable soo much more comfortable just the breakdowns that put me off slightly.

Old boy from round corner near me got a rb200 last week first one ive seen. He's had mk1, ph1 172, rb182 now the rb200 all brand new!, think he used to cup race said he didnt like the 197 didnt buy one? Always has same RAF private plate fitted.
New thread title needed how many people know of local 172cup's that have been writen off? I do!? They have a much quicker rack and + no abs = bit of a risk me thinks coupled with unexperienced drivers. Spot on model tho imo.
matt , satin, semi matt, semi gloss, gloss... how it goes iirc. Satin and semi matt are similar but slightly diff.(semi matt is closest match to a factory steel wheel colour). You could always try powder coat much tougher finish.
