Scary tyre!
My mate had these on his scoob, like lets go hedgeways and that was in the dry!! even worse in the wet!!!
Not such a good tyre, even the zz3s got slated in the evo tyre test and they are suppose to be considerably better!
Toyos would have been a better option for that price...
Its probably easier if the car is on a ramp or over a pit to gain access to the filter, as long as you dont spill any of the oil out of the filter when fitting it (getting it all over the place) then you probably did a good job going in from above!

Steve, i think people dont need a bullet proof bonnet ;) and Kevlar is another expensive material that has to be moulded.
Aluminium is still the best for lightweigh bonnets but it dents easier but it doenst rust and it can be painted better than any of the others.

These would probably be a total nightmare to paint, a rally car doesnt have to last for years normally on the paint that its got and will deteriorate with age, aluminium is a better substitute really for a lightweight bonnet, carbon fibre has to be moulded as its pretty unworkable if you try to...

The 306 Rallye is 16kg lighter than its big brother the GTi-6, thats not really alot, everything else is the same (gearbox, brakes etc) but these are quick cars, the gearing after 2nd is in 20mph intervals (ie you change at the red line and you have 20mph before changing at the redline again) so...

A great little car, very quick for its size but can lack grunt after 90ish mph, not the best in the corners on the standard suspension though but very tunable and a real pocket rocket that scares bigger and more powerful cars!

Craggy,
they are actually quicker due to the slick 6 speed box, power to weight matters if your up against a 5 speed car in a 5 speed car (thus the civic type r is so quick, its the gearbox and close ratios that keep it in the power band).
A 306 GTi-6 is actually quicker to 60 than a...
Take pictures of where the damage is, dont i repeat DONT wash the affected area of your car as there may be paint from his car (more than likely) there that the police can match.

Rik,
i went from a 19 16v (owned from new) to a pug 306 GTi-6 and you cannot compare them..... like i have said, the williams along with the 19 16v and the clio 16v suffered the same fate by having the same heavy clutches and notchy gearboxes, the 306 was a total delight to drive in comparison...

Anders,
For what you get performance wise out of the rallye its better to go for the GTi-6, its just as good a car, its more luxurious and the a/c is great in summer ;)
Tony
What i would suggest is this....
Put foot on clutch, turn ignition to on position and wait a few secs, then try starting the car (foot still on clutch remember) with NO gas, this just injects pure fuel into your engine which isnt what you want.
Pushing the clutch in reduces the load on your...

Well whoever said that the williams is quicker is telling fibs here :o as the GTI-6 is the quicker of the 2.
Now, before owning the scoob i had only ever owned 2 marques of cars, Renault and Peugeot. Having owned 2 GTi-6s you may think me bias but i also owned a 19 16v, which wasnt a bad car...
