It's definitely heading that way. I've not seen the actual results of a G-Sync'd monitor and card - but from the reviews I've read, it really is impressive.
Btw - G-Sync is a technology that's proprietary to nVidia - you would have to check if your 290 is compatible with a monitor that supports...
Chaps,
I'm helping out a m8 who's bonnet has football scuff on it from kids playing near his car. He's about a 25 minute drive from me, but could I just make a start on the car straight away, when he gets to mine?
Ironically, I removed three surface scratches from his passenger door about two...
I know what you're saying about a 'tad harsher'. The original 3M kit comes with 500 and 800 grit pads. I went straight in with the less course 800. When I redo them - I might get a slightly more abrasive pad before switching to the 800.
Your results do look very good too though.
Well, after my thread a short while back.....

I decided to have another go last weekend. The fundamental issue I had previously was with the 3M kit itself. The circular attachment fitted to a drill, which is then...
About time that DOOM went back to its roots. Forget the crappy dark corridor set piece stuff. Hundreds of enemies with hundreds of clips of ammo to fire back at them. All it needs is a co-op mode too!
You're meaning me there, aren't you? ;)
Yes - I remember the Bards Tale series well - but preferred the Might & Magic series when New World Computing started those.
Anyone tried the A-Class AMG yet? Good god - I hope those gear ratios aren't like that in real life!
1st - normal, 2nd quite long, 3rd normal, 4th - somewhere between 18th and 19th gear, imo. It's awful. If you change up anywhere below the redline in 3rd, it bogs down horribly. Good challenge...
There was a pre-order promo for two DLCs through Steam on the PC. You got Limited Edition Upgrade and Modified Car Pack thrown in. Cleverly, they labelled them as DLC 001 and 002 - with the Racing Icons Pack (003) - being the first that I've had to pay for.
Bentley Speed 8 was a dream to drive around Oulton. A bit twitchy, but still controllable. I'm not having much luck with the brakes though - I'm too eager with them.
Great DLC addition imo.
Haha! You've still got a way to get to me though!
I hadn't even looked at the Racing Icons pack on Steam - sounds like they are doing exactly what I hoped in terms of small numbers of cars. 5 more for £1.99? Can't grumble at that...
I thought we just got those two DLCs initially and then anything after, would be chargeable? I could be wrong on that though, m8.
I really hope they focus on doing a small number of cars - but well done - rather than many multi-skinned, similar variations of a huge number of car 'templates'. As...
Boo! Don't tell me that! Issues with SLi scaling are something that will be a headache for me with my setup.
I am tempted with it - but I just have flashbacks of the hack 'n grind mentality (and frustrations) of Shadow of Mordor. I suspect that W3 is superior in every way - but I don't know...
Totally normal. Mine's done it since day one - though it's much more noticeable if you have an after-market exhaust or backbox fitted.
If it's significantly loud - or has a 'metallic' chirk/chink noise to the popping - it could be that the centre section clamp is failing and some exhaust gases...
You're right. On it's own - switching to a 965 would lead to little in the way of a performance hike. Compared like-for-like against the Haswell-E's (especially the 5960X - 8 core & 20MB cache! :tongueout:) - the 1st gen i7s are quite some distance behind. But chuck one of those 965's in with a...
Yes m8 - that would be the replacement for yours. Obviously that's just the CPU itself, you'll need a cooler to go on top - unless you have a decent cooler on the 930 already, that you could swap over to?
I was going to confirm that your mobo could take one of the Extreme CPUs. But as the...
With the new rears that you'll be buying (and another shout here for @George@RTR_Parts on here) - make sure that the washer goes the correct way around.
If not, your new rear discs will have bearing failure much, much quicker than normal. Been there - done that myself, on one side of the car...
No, I know that. Just that the 911 range has long been a favourite of mine. Then some designer decided to do what they did with the 996 lights and it was all a bit 'ewww' at the front end.
What I'm saying is that the Porsche example was bad enough. But with the Aero? It has a front end that...
Got to admit - those three wheelers look a riot - proper fun.
Not sure about those Aero ones above though. They just look like they they've head-butted a lamp-post and not even attempted a repair. I never liked the Porsche 996 tear-drop headlights - but these Morgans are a whole new level...
It's certainly worth checking out some of the second-hand LGA1366 i7 CPUs out there. While going for some of the high end six-core versions would not only be overkill, but prices are still in dreamland - the slightly lesser ones (quad-core) are sensible money. That said, I did see a 980 on there...
