If you tell the insurance company about all these mods then you'll still get pumped, you might as well have a faster car. If you don't tell them about your mods you might as well not bother with insurance as they won't pay out!
Keep the car standard and open a savings account and put the...
NTBackup is usually dependable, start->run->"ntbackup". I've never attempted an incremental backup but I think it can use the archive flag so you can backup only new/changed files.
Acronis is good as mentioned for taking images. Ghost32 run from a preinstallation CD such as Ultimate Boot CD 4...
I've got a brake package from Yozzasport with pads/discs/lines. Can anyone recommend a decent place/person in the Glasgow area who could fit these for me? I live in Clydebank and work in Alexandria so anywhere around there would be ideal.
I had my 16v at 115 on the clock, took an absolute age. Bump an extra 5psi into the tyres, tape up the spaces between the body panels, fold in the wing mirrors and remove the aerial. Who knows, 120?
A P4 can most definitely be DDR or DDR2!!
As previously stated, use the Crucial memory selector tool. Crucial guarantee compatibility if you purchase through their selector tool so I would imagine this is the easiest way. Plus you get a lifetime warranty and first rate customer service.
How much would you expect to pay to have discs/pads/lines done? I'm trying to work out if it's worth my while fiddling with a car in this cold weather.
If you have cable then I would recommend a Dbox2 or Dreambox. I have had a Dbox2 for a while now and have just upgraded to a Dreambox. They have network ports that allow you to record to a network share, such as your PC's hard drive. It's a direct capture of the digital stream, so the quality is...
I don't know, I wasn't entirely impressed with those either. The night I was there they had about 50 cars on the little 1.3 mile track, so you're nose to bumper all the way round. Plus the marshalling isn't any better. At one stage I had a GT3 RS on my outside and another Porsche going round my...
A crying shame, Knockhill is a great little circuit. I could see myself there once a month if they ran things in a professional manner. They should just rename these to "Banger Racing for Mental Defectives" and be done with it, at least that way they wouldn't be giving trackdays a bad name.
Did you try the Giganews euro server Griff? I've been with them a while now, I find the speeds very fast indeed. I've only got a puny 10 meg line right enough ;) Certainly Giganews is a lot faster than my easynews account. Retention is now up to 90 days and the completeness is great, I hardly...
Well it personal choice really, personally I don't see any compelling reason to have 2 drives when 1 will do everything.
Just about any standard drive will work. Ebuyer/dabs etc, I also like SVP

Just a straight swap for the drive you have, I personally wouldn't bother having 2 drives in my system.
I wouldn't pay £62 for a Dell specific one, just get a standard recorder for £25-£30.
Ahh Gran Turismo, the only reason I bought a PS1 or PS2. I've never owned any other games, those CDs were in the drive from day 1. Remember if past games are anything to go by, the replays look better than in game footage! I'm sure it will still be awesome though....
Yep, I was caning it off a roundabout once and hit a greasy spot. The back started to come round and I saw the ESP light flicker and the car straightened itself out. Magic. Maybe you should go to an empty car park for some "testing"
I'll tell you one thing for sure, whenever a new version/model of anything comes out people will always say the old one is better. It applies to anything, not just cars.
As for the 197, I wasn't very impressed when I took one for a test drive from a dealers. However, I've spent some time with...
I use a PDA with Tomtom on it with the speed camera add on from pocketgpsworld. It tells you the kind of camera etc and so far it's been very accurate. I did London to Glasgow at, um....very silly speeds and no ticket/ban ;) You could get a second hand PDA for about £100 and "acquire" tomtom and...
I use Autoglym glass polish inside and outside. As long as you don't apply too much it won't dust. I put some on a small sponge and this way I can apply a very thin and even coat. It buffs off easily with no dust and leaves a much better finish than the spray cleaners.
How on earth does an illiterate chav get £2950 for a car like that?! I got £2200 for my standard car with nearly half the miles after 6 months of advertising  Do people really like all that plastic s**t?
RDP (or RDC as some call it) is one way and it does have some nice features, but for what you want to do perhaps some flavour of VNC is best. I prefer Ultra VNC. If you install the optional video driver it's almost as fast as RDP. You can use view only mode to see what a user is doing. I'm also...
100% agree with that, they are a very shady outfit and to be avoided. They sold me defective second hand goods and refused to give me a full refund. Seems par for the course:
