recently had 110 out of mine and it was still pulling, backed off cos i thought i would get done. little mods like decat, induction (obviously with decent feeds) and exhaust help it a fair bit with top end.
yeah i agree, toyos are not up to it in the wet. to be honest id rather just pay the extra £15 per tyre and get GDS3s.
think you can get them at black circles for something like £59 delivered. whereas mytyres do em for £65.
yeah it is strange that there is such a difference.
my car is mark 1 phase 1 but it is a K so not a very first one. i have no idea.
strange. just try all the suggestions in the thread matt, you cant go wrong.
good old tungy grey valver u got there mate. but it will be difficult to find one that is being broken to nick the wings off it. took me months and months to find my valver front end.
explain why i was able to change my central locking system with a reciever and keyfob then mate! just to prove a point, i took a reciever out of my mates clio today and connected it in my car. his keyfob opened my car.
edit - . just taken my old reciever apart there is a significantly large 16...
jay i can understand your point of view but it cannot be the case with phase 1s. i changed the central locking on my car from a renault 19 and all i did was unplug the old broken reciever unit and plug in the one from the 19. then the key from the 19 unlocked my car!
if what you are saying is...
i dont agree. my receiver has a yellow serial number on it that matches a tag in the key fob.
besides if that were the case i would never have been able to swap the central locking the way i have.
well if that is true then phase 1 and 2 recievers wont work with the car.
spose it is up to matt to see. matt here is an idea. take out your dads reciever from his car and plug it into yours. then see if his keyfob unlocks your car. if it does then the receivers are pre-programmed as i...
Jay i am suprised with what you have said because it is not the case.
As with most in-car remotes, both the reciever and the transmitter and programmed with a certain frequency. therefore you have a particular keyfob and its matching reciever. they are not interchangable!
if you imagine...
there is a place that can diamond cut the wheels so they look like they did when they were new. some of the work on their website looks outstanding. ill go and hunt for the link.
edit. found the place. this is the finish i am gonna put on my turbines...
remember to take the thermostat out of the head elbow connector if you are gonna flush the block.
did mine yesterday, gets a little messy but otherwise its ok. also remember to turn the bleed valve on the rad when refilling. plus you will probably need to top it up once you have run the car...
yeah should be fine. my car is dropped 55mm on the front and about 35/40mm on the back so the car just points down slightly ( i find it handles better than leveled out).
Sorry i am a dick. while i was writing that reply i was having a conversation with my mate (his name is james) and i wrote the wrong name, freudian slip. realised i did it in my last lession but was too late to come back and edit!!
sorry again matt i do know it i swear lol!
james what happened? if the thread has had it you are gonna have to smack it out like everyone has said. in B&Q they should have very long bolts with no head that you could use.
the only bad thing i can think of tho is that you are going to really need to hit it hard to get it out.
if it is the coloum it is very easy to change mate.
to check whether it is, go n look by the pedals and pull up the massive rubber gaiter to expose the universal joint and UJ. above the UJ have a look at the joint that changes the circular tubing to a flat shape.
move the steering wheel...
universal boxes sometimes require modding which is why they can be a pain to fit. but yeah they will fit pretty much any car, and give little if none performance gains. it will just sound different.
i tried to remove my manifold cover today and the bolts are stuck solid and will not move without being stripped.
if you can remove yours, lucky you mate :)
yep agree completely with crono33, the welding on my coloum is sound and to be honest if black16v if your weld snapped after two weeks it was a sh*t job. the rubber is probably only there to absorb a little bit of vibrations but to be honest the joint is pretty insignificant at doing that.
my...
