just had a look over the bottom half of the car and the drivers side lower sill is bubbling up really bad!! it is about 1/3 bubbled up most of it is concentrated near the rear wheel!
this means that water must have got in or is still in!! i knocked it and it is hollow inside so i wouldnt be...
yeah and it is really easy to take the coloum out so you can easily do it yourself.
king, might end up having to do a photo guide on this like what weight did with lowering the torsion bar. same question crops up every week.
yeah your speakers should have a nominal impedance rating that your amp should be able to provide.
Ideally you want an impedance rating of 2ohms so that there is minimal resistance per channel. but as the frequencies and therefore current fluctuate it is impossible to keep a 2ohm resistance...
zed mate there is no way your car is lowered 90mm, mine looks identical to yours and it is dropped 60mm. if i had dropped it 90mm my tyre would be eating arch and the car wouldnt move.
surely there wasnt 90mm+ clearance on the back of your car?
yeah £80 is about right matey. your drive would be cool as long as it is flat!
if you work sat and sun when can we do it? obviously we need some light to work in....
unless you want me to do it while your at work and leave me your keys lol.
better if you are around me thinks.
well i assume you will need the front and back doing so it will take me a while to do. do you have a place to do it?
going rate seems to be £50 for the torsion bar. not sure about the front.
i can do it next weekend. i work saturday but finish at 2pm. when is easiest for you?
i live in swindon! ill do it for you if you want for cash in hand, infact i have to raise my torsion bar so ill do mine at the same time.
i have all the tools and axel stands so it wouldnt take too long. i also have springs compressors if you want to do the front!
let me know matey
Just had my steering fixed. had the joint welded by a mate in the end. now the steering is point perfect with no play!
I got a quote to replace the coloum, came to £210. Total cost of fixing it myself £0!
The coloum isnt too hard to remove to be honest, a little fiddly in places but i am so...
dont lower it by 60mm. it scrubs badly when there is more than 2 people in the back. sometimes when there is only 1 person.
i will show you on saturday, im planning to raise my t-bar soon as the rear arches are starting to split my tyres!!
king i assume u would you have to take the coloum out to weld it properly anyway so you could just get a 2nd hand one...
im gonna try that autoweld stuff tho. sounds alright for the time being.
lads how do you get the speedo cable out???
ive tried to do it on my 1.4 and it just wont come out!! no matter how much i twist it. infact i managed to snap off two bits of white plastic that enclose a circuit board around the speedo cable.
help!!
bought some of these today from halfords. the larger dash bulb is 298 12v 2.2w. cost £1.50 and includes a bulb holder which does fit into the dash.
got ripped there mate!
ok ill have a look. may just be a dodgy dash tho. i have tried to get the dash out before but havent been able to get the speedo cable to detach. do i have to twist it or does it just pull out?
jay is the coil module able to die or cause an intermitent fault?
trouble is, because it works sometimes then not it sounds like an electrical prob.
could i test it using an ammeter?
Chris, when i say it cuts out i mean it is at say 3000rpm then will drop to zero (rest) and stay like it. I...
Ever since i bought my 1.4 RT the rev counter has been dodgy.
When i start the car it will work for about a minue sometimes less than that then it cuts out. So for short journeys i am without the rev counter.
But if i am driving for more than 1hr/2hrs it will tend to all of a sudden start...
