not true. MPI is great to have and v noticable. and i would of thought a phase3 1.2 would be just as quick if not quicker than a mk1 1.4. the phase 3 1.4S is definately quicker than the mk1. not much between em.
my advice would be to get the mintest one you can which has had all necessary...
Tried searching the forums for this but cant find it. basically i was wondering what the standard rev limiter is in the 1.4.
i always thought it was 6.5k but i tried a chipped ecu in my car the other day which was supposed to up the limiter and it stayed the same.
anyone got any idea?

i also assume that a chip is definately required to feel the benefit of any of these mods? headwork and reground cams on a 1.4 seems to put this work in the £400 bracket so...
not just on valvers jay surely? what about 1.4/1.8/RSi etc. i would of thought it was a common design, maybe not all the same size etc but still a reserve tank.
according to my local power flow the clios are notoriously bad for having crap exhaust mounts especially for the middle section where there are none!!
why renault did this i have no idea.
Does anyone know that renault seemed to have used a different gearbox in the mk1 phase 2 1.4 compared to the phase 1 1.4?
noticed the other night. my mark 1 does 70mph in 5th at about 3100ish rpm. was in my mates phase 2 1.4 the other night and he was sitting on 70mph and the engine was only...
i dont rate em personally. i was strapped for cash last time i had to change my tyres so i bought a set of ns1s. in the dry they just good enough and in the wet they are terrible.
it is due to this that i tend not to throw my car around corners at 80+ like i have done in the past when running...
