yeah its doing my head in now. ive spent months stripping the car down. had to bin the bendix abs system, as it was nakered. swapped it over to normal servo brakes. the steerign rack was nakered as well, so i did all that while engine was out.

how is the handling effected over the standard 15inche wheels. i can get a set of 18s with tyres for good money, so i mite get a set of these for my 19 16v. cheers

its the tappets. mine wer noisey constantly. they need whippin out, checkin for wear. if theyr okay, theyl need flushin thru to remove build up of crud, then reprimin of fresh oil. thatl sort them out

the reason why tappets get ticky, is because the oil entering them, has to go thru a tiny hole(1-2mm diamter). if the oil dusnt get changed regulalry, then this hole getsa gummed up with crudd, as does the plunger inside. its the build up of oil pressure inside the tappet, that stops it from...
try using an engine flush in the oil. ive used it many times on my valver, and no harm has been done watsoever! try it, mits get rid of sum crudd in them. if that doesnt work, then the head will need dismantling, and the tappets cleaned out, then re-priming with oil.

hi nick, on the 19 id remove the rad ad fan to do it, so on a clio it wud be even less space. removing the rad takes 2mins anyway!! check ur mail

ive got a set of blue lockwood dials fitted to my valver(19 16v). they fitted easy peasy, took me 30mins to get everythign sorted. looks brilliant. lite up bright too...
yeah, removing the rocker cover is easy. the inlet manifold is a bit more challenging with the head still on. jsut need long extender bars to reach the manifold nuts. wudnt even attempt the exhaust manifold with the head or engine in the car. no access
yeah those williams badges i had made up. 15quid for 4 in silver colour. ive got them on me car as well. looks ace in silver. i used hammerite on the rocker cover and inlet manifold. used hammerite bbq paint on the exhasut manifold, resists upto 500degrees c-soon see if it holds

ul need to change the coolant temp sensor. it fits in the thermostat housing bolted tothe ritre hand side of the head. on my engine its white in colour. unscrew it, fit new one. hopefully it shud work.

those "group n " clutches are from what ive been told are actually volvo 440 turbo clutches. same engine as the f series, but can withstand big torque outputs. gt turbo uprated clutches from andyspares are valeo made, and r 56quid. thats what im getting for my 19 16v! mmmmmmmmmmmmm:D
