ok, heres my results for my 19 16v;
30-70 6.75secs with a stop watch(timed 3 times over same bit of road)
mods= gasflowed head, kent cams, standard ecu(zorst n filter)
havnt tried 40-100 yet as i was having sum fun with an audi s3.

just had a close encoutner of the s3 kind. deserted dual carriageway, and the pleb in the s3 sat on me arse round the the roundabout. to cut a long story short, by 120 smiles an hr, he was no more than 2 car lengths in front of me!! much to my suprise. and he was going for it, cus he was using...
once the engines reached max power, the clutch is dipped and the load/resitance from teh gbox slows down the rollers. thats how they determined the trasnmission losses. for each car it was different, not a set %age.
the computer grpah first showed the power at the wheels, then once computed...
i ran my valver, and got the following;
147bhp at 6644rpm
121lb/ft at 6201rpm
115bhp at the wheels
that was with stage 2 head but standard ecu. seemed as tho standard ecus ruled the roost. i got the highest of all the 1.8s on the day, and its never even been to an engine tuner like hill...
a decat on the f7p engine releases the following
137bhp---->>141bhp
116lb/ft---->>119lb/ft
thats all taken from renault when they released the original 19 16vs in france without cats. with a chip ur looking at no more than 5bhp tops. induction kits are poo(nice sound, but thats...
yeah ive had a set up like this for the past 2yrs in my valver. i fed the lead thru the bulkhead and into the airbox/sealed air filter, and screwed it directly beneath the heater controls on the 19. works a treat. with induction kit, underbonnet temps can reach 50degrees on a cruise, wile sat in...
im after the speeds achieved in each gear of the following cars, as close as possible plz, also state the revs;
phase2 19 16v
clio 16v
clio williams
megane 2litre coupe
gt turbo
the reaosn im asking, is that im gunna be 2litre-ing my beast soon, and thinkin of swapping in a gearbox thatll...
nah, mines not a willims engined 19, jsut got the 1,8 tuned to williams-ish power. but im hopefully gunna be going 2litre sumtimes in the next few months. ive got the williams stickers on, so it makes all the differenc!!!!!!!
the 2litre and 1.8 litre con rods r exactly the same size, only the crankshaft is different, as well as shorter pisotns. renault do not make oversize pistons available for the f7 series, so the only alternative our expensive forged items.

the engine aslso uses the other fuel injection sensors to determine fuel deleivery, msot notably lambda sensor, as this detemrines whether the engine runs rich or lean, and either adds fuel or removes it. lambda then runs open circuit wen throttle is floored as the engien runs on bass maps does...
rito, i understand what ur saying, but wouldnt a chip only be effective at full throttle? cus wen the engine isnt running WOT, fuelling is relied on the lambda and other associated sensors, so the fuelling should be fine durign nomrla driving? only a finer tuned based map for WOT? or am i...
after coughing up 215quid for kent cam regrinds and lube(kent sports injection cams) for the 16v, and spedning all afternoon fitting them, ive gota say im unsure as to what to think. contrary to what others have said, the idle with these cams installed is complety fine, runs jsut a smooth as b4...
jsut changed my order from piper to kent cams for my 16v as they wer cheaper!! has any1 had any experience with these cams, what r they like, do they idle badly? thanks
jimbo
yeah itl fit in fine. the origianl 19 16v battery is a 500amp jobbie, and thats huge, so i wud have thought the clio would be the same. also think about fitin a diesel starter motor, the engine wud spin at about 1k rpm just on starter!!!!!!!!!! get the bugger goin in any condition!

back when the orignal f7p came out in the 19, the recommended oils wer 15/20w50 mineral oils. today they recommend semi-synthetic, or for total protection fully synthetic oils. i used mobil 1 0w40 in my valver at 86k miles. ran happily on it, jsut cost heaps for top ups!! so i stick to regualr...

ok, rite, heres a challenge to see who has the fastest car on the board. im not talking 0-60, im talking real driving conditons. heres the challenge;
get from a steady 40mph to 70mph as fast as u can. but make sure u do it from a steady 40mph, not accelerating thru it. this is to simulate...

im gunna be getting a new exhaust for the beast as soon as i get some cash, so im thinking of getting a k-tec jobbie, or one from bb. has anyone got any experience as to which exhaust has the best quality and most bang for your buck?

if the thread gets stripped, then id be more concerned about the bottom end, i.e. having swarf munching the psions, scoring the block, etc. for a 100% job, take the head off and inspect the walls of the cylinder for any scoring. ur best bet wud be to buy another cylinder head. ask paul mitchell...
