    182 wheels and Oz F1's

I've got 15" rims and 205/50R15 tyres on my 182 Cup- I like them. If you stick with the 195/50 tyres that were stock on the Ph1 it probably won't look as good though (less width and sidewall height.)

    Alarm issue

If it was me I'd be getting the ultrasonics removed and replaced with a microwave motion detector. Ultrasonics are notorious for false alarming.

    Renault radios

I changed the speakers in a Phase 1 172 recently and the woofers were a lot better quality than the stock speakers in my 182. We fitted some Polk 130mm components and it sounded very good, I didn't listen to it when it was stock.

Sports Cat back to Standard Cat

Dan you can buy 182 rear cat clamps off Ebay UK (and they work better than the stock version and are dirt cheap. ;) ) You might need to check underneath to see exactly what they have modified- they might have cut off the front factory clamp as well?

    Diagnosis needed please.

Do you know anyone with an RSTuner? It would pay to get one hooked up to your RSC to check if there are any fault codes logged.

    Recommend me some speakers

There's nothing wrong with the 182 head unit. I'm running Focal 6.5" Polyglass components and the sound quality is excellent. There's no comparison between the stock speakers and what I've got now. The sound clarity, bass and even volume level have all improved immensely. I also helped a...

    Spark plug chewed to bits

A guy in Australia just had exactly that happen, but in his case spark plug couldn't be removed. Here's a pic of his head: Note the spark plug in the middle still fitted, and valve wedged in sideways!

    OZ Superleggeras

Oz wheels have changeable alloy spigot rings, you'll need 60.06mm to fit your RSC. Your stock wheel studs should fit fine.

Lock a 182 with no battery in it?

I've got an alarm on mine that arms via the factory remote and can still do it. I turn the siren off and then do it. Or you could hold the bonnet switch for the alarm in as you lock it / disconnect the battery- if it's a case of the system not locking the doors if it detects the bonnet open?

    Recommend me some speakers

Sorry, but the stock speakers in a 182 are rubbish, whereas the stock headunit sound quality is actually quite reasonable. Hook some decent speakers up and it's amazing what a difference there is.

Lock a 182 with no battery in it?

I just lock it via the factory remote (with the bonnet up) and then undo the battery terminals.

    bigger wheels higher pressures?

You would need to be careful that you don't run them too low or else you'll be at risk of damaging a rim on a pothole etc. I have always found the lower the profile tyre the more pressure they need. We've got a Mazda 6 fitted with 225/45R17 tyres and run them at 38psi front 36 front; the tyre...

    Gordini Stripes...

A bit late, but if you look on Ebay Australia there is a guy who sells replica stripes. One of the guys off OzRS forums got him to make some for him and now the guy sells them on Ebay. Supposedly exactly the same dimensions. Out of interest mine came from the factory with them and I've removed...

    Aftermarket alarm systems

You can fix that. It happens because the alarm uses signals from the factory wiring to arm and pushing that button triggers the right signals. BTW, have you checked that it doesn't disarm by pushing it again? I got around it by hooking up a relay that interrupts the arm signal going to the...

    Aftermarket alarm systems

I did mine, but I'm an electronics tech by trade and have done about six or more car alarms in the past. I wouldn't classify it as easy to do- unless you're planning on doing a system with a new remote and not integrating it to work with the factory remote?

    Yoko prada or Proxy T-1R

They're popular in the USA (along with the AD08's and RE-11's) for their "weekend warrior" type street car racers. From the reviews I read they grip very well but the steering response isn't quite up to the competition. I'd say they're miles better than the T1R's from what I've read on them on...

    coaxial or component speakers?

Probably the biggest difference with coaxials is they usually only have a very simple crossover (a single capacitor in line with the tweeter.) There are exceptions in dearer models, but generally that is the norm. This means the woofer receives the full frequency range and the tweeter only the...

Exhaust Silencing - Would this work?

Downsizing your centre resonator to 2.25" should also make a big difference. (And fit the biggest size res you can.)

    Yoko prada or Proxy T-1R

Do you guys get the Toyo R1R? It's a step up from the T1R, but apparently has softer sidewalls than some of the competition (eg. Yoko AD08 / Bridgestone RE11.) http://www.toyo.com.au/Proxes%20R1R.htm I've just bought some Bridgestone RE11 (downsized to 15" rims) and in the dry they easily...

    Camber On a 182

My 182 Cup pretty much follows Dr Rollos above- more negative camber on the RHS (around 1 degree IIRC) and about half that on the LHS front. My rear RHS had more toe in than the LHS, but also more negative camber (which apparently will help balance out tyre wear?) You can get either...

Yes, that's it - you need to leave it all loose until it's all installed and straight, then tighten everything.

fitted an rs192, mounts dont line up

Yes, you'll need to loosen all four (?) rear mounts and most likely slide them completely to the rear. Keep in mind that you can also "tweak" the fittment by jacking the join at the cat up/down or even sideways. Same with the other joins- they'll all make a difference to how the rear tailpipes...

will new 13cm door speakers be any better?

You can get very decent sound with the stock headunit and decent speakers with a high sensitivity (ie. 92dB or higher.) I recently installed some Polk Audio 13cm component speakers in a friends Phase 1 172 and he was very impressed with the sound quality improvement (stock headunit). It...

    172/182 steering wheel thumb grips

Russo, you should open up your auction to overseas purchasers- eg. Australia. There are a lot of people who are looking for some sort of repair option- and you can imagine how the RSC steering wheel copes in our hot weather! :dead:

    15" Turinis

It all depends on where you live and what sort of roads you drive on. I've swapped to 15" with 205/50 tyres and am very happy with the change. Get the right tyres and you'll also have better grip than the stock 16" PE2's.
