go for it, but make sure u get it done by someone who knows what they're doing. LY is apparently a b**ch to get right.... even new R27s have been back to dealers because of customers unhappy at paint matches. Even Renault struggle to get it right!

well, i have an R27 which is basically a 197 with a cup pack and tasty stuff like recaros and tinted windows etc.. day to day, the car is fantastic. it'll do the daily grind with ease, interior quality is a big step up from before.... dare i say it, but its not too far off german quality these...

hmm... is there any possibility it could be coming from the right grommet that you see when u open your driver's door? its quite close to the tweeter area i suppose.... but thats one of the areas owners have fixed, i think they stick an extra rubber grommet in to rectify it. i might be...

sweet! i wasn't a fan of RB on 197s at first (thought it suited the smaller 182 better), but have to say its growin on me, and your car wit the cup spoiler looks awesome!

the squeaky recaro seats are a well-known issue with the 197s. i think there is a fix, but it can take a while for the technician to loacte the exact offending area. do u know exactly where your dash rattle is coming from? i ask because there are a couple of spots which other owners have...

nah, you wont ever make 12.5k on it. It doesn't help that the cup has just come out, and pretty much all 197FF buyers are speccing it with the cup pack, suggesting that the cup pack is pretty sought after. R27s seem to be making best on 2nd hand right now. The tasty deals being offered brand...

Thats what i was thinkin. Aren't noisey brakes quite common on high powered stoppers? Seen a few race spec cars around my way, and during slow normal road use the brakes always squeak like buggery, but calm down once they're out on track and got some heat into them.

dodgy button issue doesn't exist.... that was born out of someone saying they don't trust french electrics so therefore must fail at some point or another! The lights and recaros are the main ones. The engine cold start thing has been addressed by renault who claim it is a characteristic...

yup, the exhaust looks poo for something with hot hatch aspirations. could do with a 197 style diffuser and twin exhaust

sorry, u wrong there. the r25 and r26 were the championship winners. the r27 was last years car, and the r28 is this years f1 car. also, the r27 benefits from cup pack, red callipers, tints, recaros, mp3 cd, and decals over a normal 197 and are listed 1-500.

good deal i'd say. obviously have a look over, but full fsh and cambelt done 1000miles ago seems tidy.

heard stories about melting diffusers, but apparently if fitted correctly it should be fine. agree that slash cut pipes would look better. one to have is the yozzasport though for the 197 apparently.

i think the cup racer gets away with it because its much much lower, the camber on the wheels is crazy, and the roof vent all match up to a more extreme package that looks like a genuine racer. Plus, u only see them on the track which has a sub-concious effect on what you're lookin at. on the...

^^^^ lol are u sure thats the actual driving position. looks a bit ott to me, especially knowing them recaros. maybe someone was getting out the back, and the seat is like in the half way position, not fully up, not back down again?

^^^^ i heard it was mainly the LY R27s that had those issues. the other colours seem ok.

not for me, but as long as your mate likes it. what ruins it for me, is the "carbon look" blades on the side.

they always seem come out pink in photos, but in the flesh the colour has this lovely deep tone to it.

with regards to the door handle position.... does anyone know if its possible to swap the door cards for the updated Cup ones so its easier to shut the door? or will it not fit?

well, u'd be able to get the megane spacesaver from a renault dealer, but i'd imagine it'd be quite costly. think as an option its £100 on the r26, so i think it'd probably be pricier if u just ordered one from the dealer. better to check on ebay. have seen ppl selling 197 alloy wheels...
