Don't know much about clio specifics but a lot of cars are slightly faster when cold - thats how the 'superchips' you buy on ebay work, by tricking your car into thinking its cold all the time.
Sounds like a sticky caliper(s) but i'm sure you would have noticed it when braking. Could just be due to hard braking - 6k miles per set of pads isn't too unachievable if you drive enthusiastically ;) my record is 1500.
I've always been under the opinion comps should be in the front and coax's in the back?
Not claiming to be knowledgeable on the subject but it's what I was told by the 'expert' who helped me out with my ICE before.
What coilovers for the 172 allow the car to go the lowest? want around a 60mm drop all round really but the ability to go lower in the future would be nice. Seen a lot of pics of clios that look like they are just resting on the wheels, but cant find what coilover kit offers this drop...
As someone else posted, the price they quote you online seems very fair for a trade in price but I imagine it gets knocked down a huge deal when you take the car in and they find things to haggle on.
Gutted for you mate :dapprove: don't know what id do if someone did that to my car.
Just hope one day that the vandals get caught in the act, and maybe take a severe beating from the owner too?
I cant find any pics of aftermarket wheels that look aggressive but classy on a 172, especially a flame red one. I'm not sure if white or black wheels would work.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Quite badly overpriced - my 172 from a dealer on a 51 plate with 32k was 3700, including a cambelt change, I think that car should be priced no more than 4500.
My 51 plate 172 got its second cambelt changed at 32k, since it was coming up to 9 years and it was a bargaining tool when I bought the car, don't really know if it needed it or not but best to get it done.
Oh thanks a lot guys. They are a lot cheaper over here so im gunna save a fair bit on it. Bit of extra money to spend on other things for the clio :)
Just read your post Wozzaa. I dont really listen to the radio so it is probably still worth the saving.
Thanks
Lol. I didnt think they exist - had no idea if they did or not thats why I came to somewhere where people would know (more than me).
Figured it would be better to check and find out they arent big / existant than get home and find out everything for them is half price here.
Im away in the USA atm (florida) and thought since everything else is cheaper here, maybe parts for the renaults are too.
Does anyone know of anywhere over here that would sell parts for european cars or maybe just renaults? doubtful but worth a shot.
Thanks.
The way I see it - the clios have a lot of small niggly things going wrong, mainly due to poor build quality, but the engines dont go wrong much if they are looked after.
Im looking to put my old amp and sub setup into my 172 - was really just wondering if its worth using my old equipment or forking out for a new amp and maybe sub.
The amp I have to use is a sony class D - Xm sd61x.
I think this is the spec of it...
I want the closest thing to the noise of an open cone filter but with the breathing gains of an enclosed setup - anyone have any ideas what will do this the best on my 172?
TIA
I have a budget of around 160-190 to spend on 2 front tyres for my 172, and really after some decent tyres, not too bothered about how long they last but obviously if theyre burnt out in 4000 miles its not too economical.
Anyone have any suggestions for good performing tyres? preferably if...
Yesterday they both came on at the same time, and then went through 30 mins of them going out and coming back on every now and then. The car is not due a service yet.
Any cause for this or just faulty electrics?
