What Oil do you guys recommend??

I will always beat halfords price for branded oil, but be wary of their own oil as this is made to a low cost, you can get better for similar money. Cheers Guy

What Oil do you guys recommend??

Frank, To be honest its fine for road use, the oil does not carry any API or ACEA specs so technically not approved for general service life, for that Motul want you to buy their 8100 range. If you are happy with the 300v I would stick with it, 5w-40 would be the grade I go for. Cheers...

What Oil do you guys recommend??

As long as you change the oil often enough, the cheaper stuff is fine, but it can be a false economy if you end up buying an oil for £25 and changing it twice. I just had a look at the Halfords site and the 5w-40 Fully Synthetic (hydrocracked mineral) is £34.99. We have the Motul 8100 X-Cess and...

What Oil do you guys recommend??

If you race the car, it's a great oil. But for an everyday road car........overkill and read what Motul say about road use. Cheers Guy

What Oil do you guys recommend??

Depends if the £37 one is on offer. If you get Pro S from us on an offer like that, it's as good as anything available. If you have bought some own brand oil from a high street retailer, it's going to be a hydrocracked mineral oil. Legally they can be sold as synthetics, but they are really just...

What Oil do you guys recommend??

5w-40 synthetic is the way to go, avoid home brands such as Halfords as they are cheap for a good reason. Have a browse http://www.opieoils.co.uk/c-656-5w-40.aspx Cheers Guy

    Engine additives

There was a guy on a bike forum who's bike wasn't firing properly, so he chucked in 2 cans of NOS thinking it was a fuel additive. No, it was the energy drink. Surprisingly it was even worse after the two cans as it was literally sugar in the gas tank. Don't know if Guy can remember the forum...

    Engine additives

I've a chemists report on this stuff, it's no miracle. Just a MASSIVE profit for the company that makes it. You'd be better off using a decent race oil. Cheers Guy

    Engine additives

    OIL- quick one

That is true, a 0w will pour down to -35 degc. It was originally designed for the arctic. Cheers Guy

    OIL- quick one

You can use 0w-40 it's just that Renault recommend 5w-40, hence why we do too. 0w-40 will have better cold performance than 5w-40 but in UK temps it will never be cold enough to notice the difference www.opieoils.co.uk Cheers Guy

    castrol edge 5w-30 fully synthetic

SAE40 is the recommended viscosity, SAE30 is a bit on the thin side but you can use it. It is commonly used to try and get better MPG. Cheers Guy

    Wynns engine flush?

Dont use a flush at all! They tend to do more harm then good as they are kerosene or paraffin based and can be to harsh. And of course you will never get it all out so it just starts to break down your new fresh oil. Just use decent quality oil and regular changes and all will be as clean as it...

    10W-40 Engine Oil in a 182?

Depends which ones you look at, essentially 5w-40 synthetic is better in every way to a 10w-40 semi (unless you are running in) so they will cost more. Cheers Guy

    10W-40 Engine Oil in a 182?

You can use 10w-40, it's just that the cost of a 5w-40 synthetic is very little and it lasts longer too. Cheers Guy
