10W-40 Engine Oil in a 182?

  Lionel Richie
100% fine

you can use any of the following

0W40
5W40
10W40
15W40

you cannot go below a 40 on the second number (higher is fine)

good stuff, ive used about 4L of oil since march when mine was serviced, topping it up after every trackday and ring trip. Has seen 90 ring laps and 6 trackdays so not sure if using 4L of oil is good or bad, can get the 10w-40 stuff easily might give it a try after Oulton

yeah i dont use any on normal road driving and i used the car everyday for work, about 20 mile round trip a day.... 25L barrel of 10W-40 it is!

You can use 10w-40, it's just that the cost of a 5w-40 synthetic is very little and it lasts longer too.

  b/g 182, meg tourer
sorry to hijack...
but is it ok to mix elf fully synthetic 5w 40, with castrol edge fully synthetic 0w 40.
im guessing its fine but i just wanted to check.

on your website the 5w-40 25l barrle costs 50quid more than the 10w -40 one!!? (i think)

Depends which ones you look at, essentially 5w-40 synthetic is better in every way to a 10w-40 semi (unless you are running in) so they will cost more.

Cheers
