Oil question (help please)

Ive searched but not found the answer to this

I have an unopened 4ltr bottle of Castrol GTX 10W-40 oil in the shed, is this ok for an oil change in my 02 plate 172 and how much do they need? i.e. is four ltrs enough?

You can use it but you would be better with a 5-40w fully synthetic oil!
You need just under 5L

Anyone with a definitive yes or no answer? Sorry I'm just one of those that worry about nothing!

It'll be fine, 5W-40 is the best grade you can get for these thats all

These engines don't like castrol gtx very much, makes them very tappy!
