Ahh. I thought RSAd moved out the city recently? Are they not out at Bishopbriggs or somewhere these days? Maybe I got that wrong. Interestingly enough, you actually insure my car as Im with More Than! If youre going to look at my car, the times its definitely there are Wed, Thurs and Fri 4-8ish
Hmm, must be one of the rivals then... Id hazard a guess at UK Insurance/Direct Line??? If so then Im across the road... I think youll know where I mean! lol
To be honest, I dont think his store does security/audio/ICE, etc. its more spares and styling and performance accessories. He also owns most of the petrol stations on the South Side of Glasgow, is a registered Expert Witness for vehicle related crime, and has contracts with Strathclyde Police...
A fair point, but it seems to be confined so far to central Scotland. Not too many members up here really. Anyway, whether or not its true, its always better to be safe than sorry, and if I can help people be extra vigilant and avoid getting their pride and joy half-inched, then I would like to...
I dont know who should be worried, I am not the source of the info, Ive just cut and pasted from M8Internets post on http://www.strathycruise.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=4865http://www.strathycruise.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=4865
The guy owns a big car accessories store, as well as an online...
Im not sure about the ages of car involved, all the info I have is what I posted above. It mentions Williams though, so it might be old??? On the other hand, that might just be used as an example of a desirable Clio, so its hard to say. Ive got my Clio parked in next to the garage with both my...
Just saw this posted on a local website by a guy that runs a big accessories shop outside Glasgow. Unfortunately, this guys pretty damn trustworthy and knows a lot of significant local car industry figures, so theres a fair chance it isnt a hoax!
"This is being kept a bit hush, hush, but...
Ive got the silhouette reflective tint, its a charcoal tint but it looks lighter, yet harder to see into as a result of the reflectiveness. Overall, Im pretty pleased with it, it looks a little different to everyone elses tints, in a subtle way. Please note, this is NOT the mirror tints you get...
I got mine this morning, but theres a couple of problems. Firstly the holes have been drilled wrong for my subs, theyre too close together, so Ill need to redrill them. Secondly the mounting depth on the nearside box isnt sufficient for my Vibe PT100 sub! Im gonn ahave to order a spacer ring...
At my local Powerflow dealer theres been a huge outcry cos people have discovered theyre not real s/s! Theres been about a dozen people I know whove had to take them back due to rusting within the first 3-6 months and they apparently stick to magnets!! Don;t know if its just been a dodgy batch...
I will be running just under 1200W RMS at 4ohms (suppose thats about 3600 "peak" watts according to Boss Sound!!) with a class D amp, a small 2ch. and a fairly large 4Ch.
At the monent about to fit the 4Ch and 2 Ch, which will give the 80A. Will see how that is tomorrow, but I used to run just...
did yo say boot catch??? thats no good!! the Clios about the only car that the boot catch isnt earthed on! (I discovered this when attempting to fit my own amp!) You need to use the chassis! Thats your problem Id say.
fitting a headunit is a piece of piss mate! I did mine in literally 30 secs. disconnect the battery first. then all you need is a coathanger to cut two 3" lengths off of and bend these into a u-shape to make a diy extraction tool. Put these in the holes in the front of your standard HU and...
What kind of battery would I need for a total current draw of:
a) 80A
or
b) 125A??
Could I get away with just a diesel Clio battery with a 1Farad cap or would I need more juice?
Cheers.
SLJ, youre right, the nearside box is tiny. The offside one is 1.24 litres which is fine for most 10 or 12" subs, but 0.75 litres is way too small for anything above an 8" sub unless its optimised for a small sealed enclosure. I think the wadding they use on the inside of the boxes helps to give...
Is the Fuse OK? Have you got the remote power on lead wired up to the right head unit output? Cant think of anything else. Is the earth connection good, ie. did you sand off the paint down to the metal round where you drilled it to make a good connection?
172 replica kit is available from Prima. But I would watch it doesnt work out dearer than ordering a 172 front bumper, side skirts and inner and outer arches from reno cos thats all thats different.
He wont thrash you! It will be close but you should be fine as long as you use the full revs, ie. dont change up too early. And dont let him get a better start away from the line or you might not catch up!
But isnt that the beauty of adjustable ride height coilovers? If this is a little too low he can jack it up 5mm to 95mm and see if that reduces the rubbing... if he needs some back seat passenger space he can crank it up a few mils again...
cuptastic, thats amazing, where did you get such a good price from? I paid almost that last year for my 1.2 when I was 20 with 0 years NCD and just one accident! And I did some shopping round to get the best quote as well! Please let me into the secret!
Daz, sure its not just the Clio II Ph2s??? As my cars not Renault Sport (altho it is a Renault (Clio) Sport!!) and it has one. I hadnt noticed that other peoples didnt. Ill have a look from now on.
