I have had precisely the problem you described, rubbing only on the back left with ET38 wheels. I tried to find out where it was rubbing and figured it must have been the arch liners at the inside, so I fitted 3mm spacers to bring the wheel out to ET35. I found to my surprise that scrubbing was...
Is it not quite frequently the other way round? With some headunits the remote turn-on/accessories/electric aerial output for connecting to your remote lead for the amp is actually orange or brown? I know for a fact that on my last two head units (aiwa and JVC) the correct output on the headunit...
youll definitely lose out if you cancel before the years up. If youre replacing the car, it shold be a straight vehicle change on the existing policy, if youre not then best to either suspend the policy (the co. may let you do this, or if you got full comp. possibly reduce cover to TPF&T for the...
I feel for you mate, that is a really rough thing to happen. Hope it gets all sorted out, and they write it off so you can get a shiny new one. And youll be able to get the wheels somewhere, even if they cost more, the ins. co. are paying so if you can source them, you should get some...
Actually, theres a really easy solution Ive just thought of! On all models that have it, the 1.2 16v engine has a yellow and grey plastic cover which says on it "1.2l 16v" so if its the 16v itll have this! That should confirm for definite whether your car has the right engine? The double optic...
It was indeed. But only for 6 weeks. The Clio Sport was a 1.4 8v from the beginning of 2000. The 1.2 16v Sport was introduced mid-February 2001, at X-reg and then continued to June, when they replaced it with the Dynamique. I got mine in April so its on a Y-plate, but there are a few X-regs...
The new range of Kicker Solo-Barics are apparently due to come with a full set of spares (ie. cones with grafting material, rubbers/surrounds, coils, etc. etc.) plus a fitting kit, and be entirely user-serviceable. I wonder if this suggests a known problem with Kickers cmpetition stuff, cos I...
Ive got a cat-back Scorpion system, and erm, no it doesnt bugger up the car in any way! lol! Does make it sound a heck of a lot better though! Im getting a decat as well soon, hopefully, but Im still hoping someone will tell me whether or not this will feck up the lambda sensors... (hint hint...
Bambam, whats the point in having a back box if you got no centre section??? Do you mean you have no silencer in the centre section?? Im a little puzzled!
Well, I looked into getting it from K-Tec, but they dont do a decat for the 1.2 16v, and their 172 decat costs over a ton which is well pricey! Ive been quoted £40 to get a stainless custom one made on the car locally, I just needed to know whether to go ahead and do this, or whether it was...
Is it possible to decat a newer Clio with a straightforward cat replacement pipe, or do the lambda fuel sensors behind the cat cause problems? I dont know much about this, will taking the cat off remove the actual sensors, or will it just cause thm to play up cos theyre not getting a proper...
Well... £205 is above average certainly, but Pentagon (Gla/Ayr) will still hit you for over £220 notes minimum for a new shape Clio... and I originally got quoted £260 by the place in South St. Glasgow I ended up getting mine done... (later booked it thru a mate and got them done for £170!)
Is it just me who thinks its a little ironic that insurance companies penalise you heavily for a no-insurance conviction, considering the fact that youre clearly not committing the offence again by the very act of seeking insurance cover?! I think its a little unfair. I mean a speeding...
Ah, but this is Opti series stuff. The great undiscovered secret of the ICE world! The amp is 3600W RMS at 1Ohm (900W RMS at 4Ohms, 12V), and costs £695, which for Lanzar, is a lot of money! The subs are 2200W RMS@ 2 Ohms. All of which together, in a very special enclosure, means big figures on...
I know someone who used to get 148dB with Lanzar stuff. An Opti 500.2 amp driving a pair of 12" Opti-drive 1234D DVC carbon fibre subs in a custom made band-pass enclosure. Not sure what the configuration was in terms of channels/coils and what Ohms version the subs were though.
Ah but fred, Ive proven you wrong mate!! ;)ET37 is the best all round for Mk1s, but on Mk2s like yours ET38 will give you full lock even when its decked! :D
Hahaha... dont get me started... I have better stories than any of the ones on that site from my own experiences, and one of my mates! All I can say is Id never touch em again with a barge pole!
Right then,
After a long afternoon spent down at the local dealers juggling about with different wheels, spacers and suspension, having numerous passengers in my car (Clio 2 Mk1) and a mates Dynamique (Clio 2 Mk2), the results are as follows:
The only offset range to give full lock on a Mk1...
Its only a 1.2 16v, but its got an almost completely unsilenced exhaust, which sounds better than any car Ive ever heard! (apart from TVRs and Scoobies with straight through exhausts!) They guys down Strathy park and Coatbridge every week, its one of the most distinctive cars that goes down...
I know this particular car. Its not the darth vader one in GRspics, but v similar tho. Dont like the kit much, (although what options does one have for a new shape Clio really??? there are no other extreme kits available, so I can kinda sympathise with their choice), and the Saxo 16v badges plus...
I was looking at a preregistered, but delivery mileage V6 they had in Arnold Clark in Bishopbriggs last week. It was in metallic red, looked very very nice! They had it on offer at £19995, which I thought for delivery miles was a bargain, and theyve had it a couple of months but its now sold sadly!
If the chevrons have a solid line then you cant cross/drive on them at all. If they have a broken line round the edges then youre entitled to drive on them as though they werent there, ie. theyre there to indicate the best path/layout of the road, rather than to force you off a piece of ground...
My god, Paul its you thats been stealing these Clios, Im shocked!!! Not content with just one clio, you obviously love them so much youre looking to expand your collection, eh?!
But its a very good point! Bearing in mind what this thread was about originally!!
but dont worry, your IPs logged...
