Good cars - quite fast and very good handling. Drive one first before making a decision tho. The pedals are cramped and the car is small. Good MPG tho but if its like the VTS electrical faults are very common as they get older.
Aye Mark - I was surprised when I came on here at first too - you just look at the old book times but the Renaults loosen up and get faster where as the Fords seem to stay the same.
RS1800 0-60 8.3secs 0-100 24.2secs 30-70 7.8secs
Clio 16v 0-60 7.4secs 0-100 21.4secs 30-70 7.1secs
I was possibly going to buy my 3rd RS1800 until I decided on the Williams.
Thats wrong - I have the Autocar tests against the RS1800 and the Valver stuffed it in every department except build quality.
The Valver was quicker in every part by a decent margin.
If your RS was standard then it should be a fair bit faster - had 2 RS1800s in my car owning life. Good cars but not Valver pace. The Valver responds to mods better too.
Valver 0-60 7.4
RS1800 0-60 8.3
The Valver will cost more to run - Renault ownership was a culture shock for me!
If I had the choice I would go for the Cup out of the renaults as its faster and that in the end is more important to me.
You wont notice the toys after a few weeks anyway
I found 195s made me slower on the very uneven back roads but quicker on the smoother roads.
Its feels better but harsher with my 195s which are Toyos.
My 185s were the oringinal Michies.
Hmm - I dont have a Cup so cannot really comment on the actual car although my Renault dealer has made some mistakes they have bent over backwards to sort my problems out.
If you read scoobynet you would never buy a Scoob for fear of the engine blowing up but I agree there does seem more...
Yup and im still getting comments and people staring at it outside my office window! LOL
Had to give a customer a guided tour today - I liked the comment - its just like a Clio inside! WTF did he expect! Starship enterprise!
yup - im afraid so.
do a search as this question is asked a lot and most people probably cannot be bothered typing it all out again;)
Im sure Ben H responded with a large post last time that gave all the info.
I suffer from Landrover owners - they cannot be overtaken without tailgatting you! Had one tailgate me at over 100mph a few years back even tho he was happily sitting at 70mph when I overtook him.
