I drive my Williams and my girlfriends VTS on a weekly basis and they are both superb handling wise.
The biggest difference is the sharper turn-in on the VTS makes it far more twichy at higher speeds where the Williams is in its element. Her VTS is far more nervous although its far easier to...
Glad to see im not the only one that notices the difference - I do prefer the 195s for long distance A roads but I miss the composure the 185s gives me on the B roads. Maybe I need 2 sets of alloys and tyres;)
Ben have you had 195/50/15s on your car at any point? Im only have way through my toyos but my biggest problem for my next set is the size more than the type. Planning maybe going back to 185s.
I dont see the problem in paying more for a better size (if it is) as tyres are the only point in...
I find mine fine in the wet, best wet tyre ive had - but im a lone voice on here with that;)
My Yokos were the best dry tyre ive had for the dry but they virtually vanished in no time (5,000 miles). The Toyos are lasting far better although I find quite a lot of road noise with the Toyos...
It came off a Williams 2 so it must be the correct exhaust:confused:
Wonder if the fact Rajks Williams was lowered would have effected the exhaust?
All opinions welcome - im desperate.
I found the 172 handling wasnt a patch on the Williams when I drove it. Know a few people that think the same but I usually get flamed for saying such things on here;) It felt more motorway cruser than hardcore hatch and I was expecting a lot more from it.
The 182 is supposed to be a lot...
There is a join after the Cat then one before the Axle. Its just the very rear part thats the problem - its not like we have never done anything like this before. One lad that tried worked on Rally cars for 10 years but none of us can get it to go through the gap. It just gets so far then jams -...
Nothing there to split from what I can remember.
There isnt different types of these for different ages of Williams are there? I would have thought they were all the same but somethings not right.
Hmmm im worried now - one of us is a mechanic and we have been battering at this for ages so far tonight. Sounds like something isnt right.
Cheers for the replies guys - I will have another go.
We have taken off the spare wheel holder and rear left wheel so far in a vain attempt but it just...
The car is jacked and we have been pushing like mad.
I have twisted it and turned it in every direction but it still sticks - without damaging the car it seems impossible. 3 of us have now tried and failed - im begging to wonder is the exhaust bent out of shape?
OK Peeps I must be doing something wrong as I have never seen anyone else post with the problem:
I have a standard Williams exhaust to go onto my Williams - the front section to the cat is easy but the rear section that goes over the rear suspension will not go. It keeps getting stuck on the...
As MartinS says - also mine is mint and I mean mint with 33,000 and one 60 year old owner before me - I would expect £5,000 or so max. Maybe get more if I ever sold but £5,000 is what I personally think mine is worth.
Would always advertise if for more to start with just in case.......
I had a similar thing years ago with my XR2 - it was totaly standard and in the days a XR2 was seen as quick LOL - I stopped and told I must have stolen it at first then they proceeded to search every inch. You know sometimes when the police just simply have it in for you. They told me is was...
This Forte stuff sounds good!!
My 33,000 mile Williams engine makes the "tappety" noise aswell - only notice it in the summer when the windows down.
All the cars ive owned have had the same noise at start up.
They look ok from a few meters away but not up close - 5/10 maybe.
I used silver and gold touch up paint on the rotton/kerbed bits so they look fine from a distance.
Living way up here theres nobody that can do it - havent got round to deciding what to do about them.
The cars immaculate apart from the alloys but id much rather have average alloys the right colour than refurbed alloys the wrong colour. I still havent got a exact match for the original...
As far as im aware you cannot get them refurbed with the diamond cut rim - I can get them done by someone with a Silver rim but not the original diamond cut. Not sure that maybe just having the gold rim may be better than a silver non-diamond cut rim.
Put a big engine in a Nova and it can go fastish in a straight line - try making it go round a corner like a sporty clio!
Dont say lower it and shove some springs on as if it was that easy the major car makers would get it right everytime on the handling front - and most dont.
Standard for...
Valver - or Williams
GF has a VTS and I have a Williams - poor old VTS hasnt aged well at all. The amount of problems with the Saxo are too many for me to be bothered posting about. My cousin had a R reg when new and suffered similar. My work mate suffered some too. The VTS will be for sale...
I changed from the 185/55 Michs to the 195/50 Toyos.
For the money I cant complain - as Ive had (we I guess I dont have too) to type on many occasions:
I found the 195s far better and more grippy, harder and stable for normal driving - motorways, dual carrageways etc.
I found the 185s far...
£365 FC for me but im old and live nowhere so that helps LOL.
Some companies have the Williams as group 15 - some 17.
As far as reliabilty - 1 year and 4 months and ive had and alarm fault.
Cost = £40
My total running costs excluding petrol would be around £700 including services, oil...
