A brief exposure to dilute vinegar won't. And it will kill the bacteria/mold causing the smell. what is damaging is if the mitt is allowed to go moldy, it will then start shedding!

Just caught up with this. Perceived fact. If you haven't analysed the paint correctly, how can you accurately perceive its condition? You seem to have skirted over the comments about sun guns etc. Sometimes marring/swirling/clouding is only apparent in certain lights, usually evening sun...

All sheepskin mitts can smell a bit when left wet. If it does, soak it in dilute white spirit vinegar for 10 mins and then rinse.

The Menzerna range is hard to beat tbh. the colour of the car is irrelevant for polish though. He asked for a polish to use with a DA.

Mine makes power to 7500rpm, and it was ARP rod bolts but I still tend to change 7200rpm at the most unless its a long corner and I need a few more revs etc

Good first effort, listen to Dave though. If the polish residue is hard to get off my guess is the panels were overheating, either through polishing or the direct sunlight
