18.7 thats not good
autocar tested the 182 0-100 in 17.0 and the 182 had 1751 miles on the clock
what time did the 197 do 0-60 in? Also what were the 0-60 and 0-100 times for the ST & VXR
Where as this thread is right intersting, so after this reply Ill choose not to read it anymore which is exactly what you should do on threads you dont find interesting
true, the 197 is a much better overall car than the 182. The problem is it doesnt offer the sense of fun of the 182 and I think a 182 will be slightly quicker. What it offers is higher quality, better ride, more refined but it comes at a price and I cant honestly see what the 197 does what the...
The best Ive ever average was just after i filled up, its straight from the petrol station on to a 60mph road for about 4miles to my mums house, it goes into a 30mph zone for about half a mile and by the time I had parked up at mums the trip computer read 54mpg.
Usually I average about 37mpg...
Ill try and give a breif summary of the differences!
Renaultsport Clio 172- has 172bhp loads of kit like leather, climate control and xenons etc
Renaultsport Clio 172 cup- came in two colours (mostly blue) and was a stripped out version of this (weighing 70kg less), so no creature...
I like the 197 but would be commiting financial suicide in buying one, they would probably want £16k+ with a few extras and they would probably give me 8k for the 182.
So I would be paying 8k for a car that is not faster, more expensive to run, has less equipment in it but better built...
pbirkett seems to agree with me, also I have had my own experience of 182 v 225, I was behind a 225 once and it was going nowhere, now Im not saying I was catching but he wasnt getting away.
That was my point, I think alot of these cars (meg 225, FST) are classed as hot hatches when they are comfortable cruiser and if I wanted a comfortable cruiser I would get an S3
Whether the meg 225 would get past the 182 depends on how long the road is, but from my experience of 182's and 225...
A good review mate and it seems to be consistent with what has been said before.
I really like the 197 but at that price I cant see any reason to buy that over the Meg 225
I know the 225 doesnt get the best reviews regarding handling but the facts are that it is just as quick (if not quicker) around a track as a VXR, ST, CTR, LCR. I think the 225 like the ST has turned into a comfortble cruisers rather than a hot hatch and if I decided to move to a car like this I...
Agree it looks nothing like a Micra, I actually think it looks nice, so much better in the flesh
Ill have a test drive but i think if i changed the 182 I would go for a 225 over the 197 (possible an S3 though!)
i think the review goes along with the general consensus that the 197 is better made, more refined, more comfortable but doesnt feel as fast and isnt as much fun as the 172/182
