That 6.3 was for a full fat 182, 0-100 17, so close to 6secs is a possiblity.
I have a copy of the 0-100-0 autocar challenge and the 182cup was slightly slower to 60 (6.4) but faster to 100 (16.7)
I have found my 182 keeps up with things that should beat it, I was glued to the back of a TT...
I think thats a fair price for a dealer, if i was selling that car privately I would expect 8.5k
Cliosport does nothing for the residuals of the Renaultsport Clios
Half in cash half loan from my bank 5.8%
When i lived with my mum and dad its easy to save loads of money. Now I have a mortgage and bills to pay its a bit more tricky to save.
I dont see anything wrong with buying on finance, obviously you pay the interest and it enables you to get...
In summary all have the same 182bhp engine,
The 182 - comes with all the toys (CC, Leather, Xenons etc), comes in a variety of different colours and it is possible as an optional extra to have the cup suspension and cup spoiler pack fitted.
182 cup - is basically a 182 minus a few toys, no...
Wont be eating it mate, you find me any evidence to suggest that the 197 is quicker.
The 197 is a all round better car but its not as quick in a straight line
The 197 is slower than the 182, its slower to 60, its slower to 100 and its got a lower top speed, the road test figures dont lie.
Renault reckon the 197 is quicker than the 182 to 62, if thats the case ill eat my hat
As far as Im aware the phone prep just enables your car to use the phone in it, I assume through the speakers. After that i think you have to buy the cradle/bracket for your particular model of phone
Yes it was a diesel, no petrol car would have that much torque over bhp.
Thing is ive had a play with an meg 225, Audi TT, WRX in the past all have about 225bhp and similar torque and there has been nothing in it, despite the fact that they have about 70lb/ft of torque more than the 182.
The torque curves of the 182 and 197 are virtually identical in shape as is the BHP line.
As for torque accelerating the car, I had a little play with a VW Passatt (168bhp & 258lb/ft torque) now my 182 is way up on power to weight BHP but way down on torque and down on power to weight torque...
Overall the 197 is a better car than the 182. Its a different animal though, the 182 is more like a old school hot hatch where as the 197 is like a mini Golf GTi
I agree about the performance issue, if it was as quick as a meg 225 Id consider one as i think they look awesome and from what ive read they are as good to drive. Ive been invited for a test drive so ill be taking that offer up!
Thats said it will still be the quickest car by some way in the...
The main purpose of the 182 was so that renault could say there hot hatch had more power than Peugeot!
The 182 was designed to be the best of both worlds, i.e have the pace and handling of the 172 cup (i.e extra 10bhp) and the spec of the 172. Remember at the 182 launch Renault said there...
True, but in terms of performance its significantly slower than both.
Straight line speed was never something that the 182 improved on over the 172, so cup and trophy versions of the 197 will come and go but unless they make the engine more powerful or loose alot of weight (100kg or so) then...
Why are they not relevant? Autocar tested the 197 to 100mph at 18.7, thats slower than the 182 by 1.7secs and the 197 had more miles on it than the 182 when tested.
You cant blame the tight engine when autocar tested the 182 it has less miles on the clock than when they tested the 197. (1890 miles for the 197 and 1751 miles for the 182) and the 182 is significantly quicker
on paper the 197 is a few bhp per tonne short of a CTR but its 2.5secs slower to...
totally agree, for me renaultsport is about peformance and fun at a cheap price and for me the 197 doesnt offer this.
Looking at the performance figures its a fair bit slower than 172/182, taken from autocar's 182 road test the 182 is 0.6secs faster to 60, 1.7secs faster to 100 and 1.5secs...
Just bought the magazine and the road test of the 197 is in. Overall it gets a very good review 4.5 stars out of five.
going for it they say fabulous chassis, comfort, quality & design
against it they say pace, steering feel and not cheap.
Performance data: 0-60 6.9 & 0-100 18.7
It...
