Thats the point though, the article is about best drivers cars and has nothing to do with price. The FRS is better than the Clio Trophy so why isnt it above it in the list. No ones doubting that the 182 is a good fun car to drive, I own one and love it to bits.
The 182 is good but I dont...
Good point, maybe Im being harsh on Evo. I have to admit though I do prefer autocar to Evo but thats probably becuase they concentrate on the whole package where Evo tends to concentrate on the driving.
I know what the article is about and a Focus RS is a better driver cars than a 182 Trophy. The FRS is faster, better looking, quicker in a straight line, quicker round a track and importantly quicker and more fun to drive cross country from A to B.
The magazine should be titled EVO 'sponsored...
agree, if you look at the Focus St they have three different verisons, ST1, ST2 & ST3 and all the performance figures are the same and I bet the weight diff between them is similar to the diff between the 182 & 182cup
Agree, my 182 with cup packs is just insured as a 182. If you tell them it has different suspension they will charge you more, even if it is an optional extra. On that basis they should charge more for arctic blue than racing blue as arctic blue was metallic extra at £350
I usually use optimax and get about 37mpg, the last time i filled up i used tesco 99ron and the trip computer is saying 32mpg. A big difference considering as its the same journeys all the time.
I think optimax will be going in it next time
If you want the luxuries, air con, leather seats etc then get the 172, if your not bothered about these and want a slighlty quicker car more drivers orientated car then get the cup
Personally Id go for a 182 with cup packs, then you get the handling of the cup the toys of the 172 and the...
These are the models and variant of the 182
182- this has all the toys (leather seats, climate control, crusie control, xenons etc) but just has standard suspension. comes in all the colours except the Trophy red.
182 cup - loses some of the kit from a 182 such as climate control (still...
If your planning on spending on £1500 making a 172 like a 182 then just buy a 182, for the £1000 extra you get a newcar car porbably less miles and more warranty!
It probably is, I would have thought the differences would only be noticeable when driving at the limit and to be honest in terms of handling I wouldnt of thought you will be taking too many corners on the road near the cars capabilities.
Im sure there are many people on here who have gone...
There are very little difference between the trophy and the 182 so whether you think the differences are worth the premium will determine whether you buy the trophy or not also whether you plan to do track days.
The reasons I see for getting the trophy is the improved handling (probably most...
I know what you mean about upgrading, I cant see the point in buying the 197 when the 225 seems better in every way. I just see the 197 as a mini 225 and I think I would rather spend the money tuning my 182 than upgrading to the 197.
I think this quote from 4car sums it up really
"So for...
Very nice pics, looks very nice
Lee did you have a test drive of the v6? if so how was it compared to the 182?
If you dont mind me asking how much did you pay & how much did you get for the 182?
Cheers
