Cheers fred, what does need to be drained and what doesnt?

Bump,

s**t, work for a tyre wholesale firm and these are the 2nd bottom brand we sell. Have heard so many sories of them not stopping in the rain and we get loads returned because they dont fit. Please for Gods sake spen the extra money and go for some Branded tyres like dunlop or goodyear eagle...

Went ahead and bought me one, just need the straps now.

Do i even need the straps, just seen an engines removed using one point, presume its better/safer to use both.

Is there a sticky/guide anywhere with how to lift the engine (possibly with pics) Have a Haynes but they use 3 words where on will do. Cheers Bailey

Can i get "engine mount thingies" elsewhere? Was thinking of getting a new one as second hand ones can be a bit dodgy.

Cool, what did you use to lock it back in place?

Am hoisting the engine from the bay soon and have been told i will need to knock out the driveshaft roll pins to acheive this. Will i need to replace these with new items when i refit the engine? or will i get away with reffiting the old ones for a week or so? Cheers Bailey.

Am taking the lump out of the valver soon to hopefully get her running again. Was looking at hiring this: http://www.hss.com/g/67715/500kg_Engine_Crane__Folding.html but have been told i could have a new one for around £150. Was just wondering what the general consensus is, would you buy a new...

RAC man recons its the clutch, speedo doesnt go up so i think circlip is out, am just going for a look under her now. How do i tell if the clutch has gone?

Have seen these around the warehouse at work, not only are the nice tyres at a good price they look so aggressive aswell, will be treating my car to these when my oldies need replacing (plus i only pay 16 quid a tryre for them lol.)

Great news everybody, my clutch has gone! :dapprove: Just looking at what to go for, is it worth getting an up rated one? (car is standard so presume not) and how much is the renault oe one? (cant find one in the GSF listings) Thanks Bailey

Would think so but then what would stop you putting it in reverse at the lights?! Other than that you wopuld be putting a whole new gear box in, so custom drive shafts, clutch mounts etc. Cant see why you would want to, think lift reverse is the best way to do it.

Thats the one. Am dreadin seeing it, am ptting it off so much So am looking at posibly: unhooked shift linkage or popped diff circlip?

Dont know, if it does doesnt that mean clutch?
