Just look at the problems section over at the CTR forum, every car has it annoying niggles. I must say the Honda garage I bought the car from is by far the best Ive experienced, much better than Renault and the so far appalling Subaru dealerships ive been to!
Ive read some of this thread and havent noticed anyone highlighting the fact the 172 driver just wasnt pushing it as much as the Punto! On the track day briefings Ive attended Ive always been told that if I wanted to let a car past you have to move to the right lift off the throttle for a...
It is. Ive promised myself Ill keep this car for at least 2 years, tbh I think that time will fly by with this car. After the 2 years, circumstances permitting, Ill buy the exact same car youre trying to sell!
P.S, Please dont offer a PX, I wont sleep tonight!
Your mates 8v GTi must be well modded then, either that or your other mates R32 has something seriously wrong with it, the R32 will more than likely be quicker than your V6 to 100 and above also.
Its going to do much much much better than that, I reckon around the 1:38s mark, same as the WRX and CTR.
You have to remember that old £100 Rover GTi did it in 1:42 - lol!!!
The plastics used by Renault are cheap, hard, brittle crap. The fuse box clip came off in my brothers hand with very little provocation, damn sure we aint paying for another one!
The 172/Cup werent built to order for the entire run, there are still a lot of unsold Cups and 172s kicking about, dont see the 182 being any different!

The fuse circled above has blown again in my brothers Cup, once replaced it works fine.
Is there anyone out there that knows what the fuse is used for? We need to have a rough idea of what is causing it to blow.
Cheers
With 190/195bhp, the Cupra will only be as fast as a good 172 - thats a fact!!
The 172 will piss all over the Cupra for handling, hence is a lot more fun to drive - thats a fact.
Overall the 172 walks it, but its up to you I spose, if we all drove the same car it would be a boring world!
Try http://www.motorlogix.com/index.cfm?section=search&makeId=22&modelId=136&bodytypeId=6&vehicleType=%27N%27%2C%27I%27%2C%27P%27%2C%27D%27%2C%27U%27&start=60Motorlogix.
They have a demo in stock now, they may well be willing to do a deal, only 800 miles!
Having driven both, if I had to chop the P1 in tomorrow, Id be on the hunt for one of these pre-registered Cups. With the money Id save Id kit it out with some Recaro/Cobra seats(£800) and swap over my Alpine MP3 HU!! You would then have, IMHO, the best new hot hatch money can buy at this time!!
