remove your battery and you will see the bolts. just check they are tight. mine you could see it had moved around from the mark it had left.

bet the gearbox mount under the battery is loose. ive had quite a few where the 13mm bolts/nuts come loose allowing the mount to move around. come loose twice on mine now.

for a cheap attempt to fix yourself try an oil pressure switch. the f engine is good and i doubt its anything terminal. if the switch doesnt fix it you need your oil pressure testing.

if the belt has never been changed id get it done asap. it will want a cambelt in a few months as well so might as well do both.

have you had a look at the pads etc?

id try a sensor first. its on the thermostat housing on the gearbox end of the cylinder head.

clio instrument panels themselves were troublesome for a while. very expensive just to try one though.

With it being a 1.2 id be inclined to say the smaller size. renault discs are cheap however. tools reqd 17mm spanner 13mm,18mm and 19mm sockets screwdriver flat blade torx 40 big grips as you say though simple enough job

you unclip the mirror glass first then unclip the rear cover. with the mirror glass removed you can see the clips for the cover. mirror glass should just prise of its clips just be careful.

the brake switch was a problem on 172 as well there is a tech/ti note. adjustment is all thats needed on 172 anyway

get new shoes fitted and adjust up the brakes. shoes are cheap.

if not warranty you should get a decent contribution i should think

yep seeing as its a 172 id say throttle body as well. had a few at work although my own one doesnt do it. if it starts and runs ok leave it.

if an alternator faults it can actually draw current from a battery when at rest yet still charge the battery ok when running.

impossible to predict as it all depends on how its been driven. ive changed them on cars with as little as 35k on but my own personally is close to 60k on its original clutch.
