Normal current drain is around 30 milliamps with the vehicle locked. To drain the battery in 12 hours must be some current drain to do that. you really need to rig up an amp meter then find the drain by disconnecting items until the large drain drops. Start with commen items like alternator and...
you would never know unless it was done very recently and you removed the covers to see if the tensioners look new. As far as i know gen renaults belts only come in a kit.
charcoal canistor sounds familiar. if i remember right you can adjust it to cure the noise.
As for the second problem is it more noticable in damp/wet/slippy conditions or surfaces? if so i think you'll find it caused by the tyres slipping and the wobble sensation is when they grip. Never had...
press the brake pedal down, put a feeler blade probably about 1mm between the switch and the pedal. as the pedal comes up it will adjust the switch in automatically by 1mm or whatever thickness blade you've used. repeat until your happy with when the brake lights work. if you go to far just pull...
follow your top radiator hose to the cylinder head. the hose goes onto a ally part which is held to the head by two 10m bolts. undo these bolts and pull of the ally part to access the thermostat.
the valves on the new engines are very easy to bend so i doubt if a cambelt snap could cause any damage to big or small ends etc. compare yours to another, cant somebody here meet you or something?
its not just the gearbox thats broke he's blown the engine as well. kept me in work for quite a while till he got skint and now he's trying to do more things himself instead.
there is a couple of v6 kicking around town. i did one on the bypass myself and he wasnt happy. he is from north wingfield, hasnt got a private plate though.
new gaitor about £30. you cant use the car now because your losing gear oil so you might as well take the shaft off whilst its jacked up. changing the gaitor is simple enough and youll need some gear oil (up to 3l)
im off work till next week so cant check the diagram but you need to check the voltage out of the stalk on the full beam track. if you dont sort anything by next week pm me.
yep sounds like a cv joint. Is any of your cv joint gaitors split so highlighting the suspect one (run dry). Renault shafts sometimes are a reasonable price so worth a quote. on the other hand you might be unlucky cos sometimes the prices are a joke.
so the noise changes with speed?
does it get louder if you apply more throttle?
does the noise quiten if you free wheel in nuetral?
does the noise occur in every gear?
im going to change mine at 60k. Never had a 172 belt snap at mileages like 36k where it was just the cambelts fault. The main thing is the aux belt shredding and going into the cambelt. A lot of people dont realise this has a interval change of 36k
