1,if its service history is up to date dont bother
2,yep 8mm square drive
3, hmm
thought the 1.5 had an alloy sump or is that the 1.5 but 80 and 100 versions? you'll find out.
how do you mean it stops? hits the rev limiter to early i presume. i was gonna say coil pack or tdc sensor but you've done that. is it defo 6k or a bit higher? If the engine isnt up to full operating temp the computer uses an early rev limiter until the engine warms up. is there a issue with...
replied to your other post. everytime you start and move off the abs does a check. it checks all sensors and runs the pump for a split second. if you brake hard and cause the abs to cut in the pump runs again to replenish fluid loss in abs operation (thats why you get a jerky brake pedal when...
its on the thermostat housing which is on the end of the cylinder head (gearbox end). there will only be one sensor on the housing so you cant pick the wrong one.
aye i know not been on here for ages.drifted off as this place got a bit mad a year or so ago. did go on rsc for a while but not...
Couldnt pm you fella it said you cant recieve them. Anyhow yep the noise is from the abs pump but its a simple fix. Basically the abs block catches on its mounting bracket so when the pump cuts in you get strange noise. Loosen off the abs block mounting bolts, lift the block up slightly and...
you can do what you like but you must keep the original injection computer. esp is controlled via a link between your injection computer and the abs computer. Eg fitting throttle bodies would be out because you dont keep the original ecu. do you get what i mean?
there was a commen problem with switches but mainly affected the esp and put a fault light up relating to that. sounds like a wheel sensor has gone but you would need a diag check to identify which one.
sounds like the bloke is talking rubbish. imagine how low it would be without springs it would be sat on its bump stops. if he has i bet the rides dreadful and of course completly dangerous.
the starter motor and alternator are linked directly to the battery via the main starter cable. there are no fuses or links. Anything else on the car has a fuse so if they were all removed that eliminates everything else, however on a p plate clio isnt there also a fuse box under the scuttle...
yep change at 36k. the aux belt shredding and ripping the cambelt off is very commen as the mileage creeps up. A bit awkward to change but not horrific.
if you have lost a lot of water then headgasket. If not check obvious ing system items and tdc sensor. Old clio was also commen for water ingress into ecu.
there is a modified pas pipe to cure a knocking under cornering. this only applies to 172 phase 2. Always apply the strut top mod first though to eliminate that as the cause. The pipe is a little pricey and a pain to fit but apparantly works. Any interest let me know.
Another thing-the...
