Water will have got down the pug holes, this then creeps up the plugs. Remove leads off the plugs and you'll see the issue. Good dry out should see you reet,
I bought my old 197 from there in 2008, that too had some ditchfinder 2000's on the front, and a crap wheel refurb that blew off when jet washed. still once those niggles were address it was a good car.
Ive had two, still love the wee things. Once hooked up to a free flowing A/B road, theres not much for the money that feels so 'right' imo. Thats why i cant part with the b*****d thing!
They also pack some girth for a wee car, it never portrays well in photos though
Ive found them ok, but some have quirks where dchp needs to be kept enabled on the machine, even though its kept as a static address in the router settings... very strange.
(had this with various HH3 and my own 5 at home especially A type firmware)
Really like that.
Wrong colour for me though.
For me, black the 'blade', lose the 'RS' badge at the front, wee drop, and maybe black the door strips at the bottom......
Some Brembos to complete the 'look', done. ^ If that was a manual i'd be all over that......
But then i'm more of a...
No worries
For the op, things you need to look for.
Service history is a must, and they should have all had their cambelts done by now. These MUST be done, and by a reputable specialist..... All RS Clios are very timing sensitive, if done wrong it will make the car down on power.
Gearbox (as...
6k will get you a nice 07 early 08 plate
It depends really, you can say mine cost XYZ but iirc, yours needed a stack load of work when you sold it? (Stalker alert)
For something with fsh with belts and decent premium tyres good pads + disks under 60k, 6k will get you a really nice example...
No the info was wrong. It affects the whole mk3 RS range. I've had two 197's, first was a 06 plate, covered 30k in it with no issues. My current 197 is a cup 08 plate, had covered around 25k and the box was showing symptoms with 4th. So swapped that out back in March. Replacement box fells fine...
Flol!
I'd have one, but for me it needs to be a manual. As my car is basically a toy anyway, driving an auto doesn't do it for me. Looks wise I think with a few choice mods they could look great. And by that I mean slight drop, bit of stance with a lower offset. Done. Shame there's no Recaros...
Yeah think if it was for daily commuting it would grate after 11 years..... I'm lucky that mine is only used at weekends really. As a drivers tool they are still right up there IMO
Aye
As a drivers tool they are hard to beat IMO. If I wasn't planning on moving next year id probably have a meggy 250 or something, but as it's only used at weekends it still serves it's purpose. Still brings a smile when shown a good B road ;-)
Well not really.............I want a Meg, but really want a Mk3 Cup. Bit out of my price range with house move on the horizon next year. So I think i'll stick for now :)
