As my AO48's are just about at the end of their life and new ones required soon ( They are expensive) are Parada tyres going to be a decent substitute considerering they are about £47 each?
Plenty of parts turnover in CS parts, and you won't get ripped off. So pay up! Only Renault breakers I know are Renault parts in South Benfleet who don't usually have RS cars in and Cit-Ren up towards Norwich who do have plaenty of RS stuff.
You can renew the water pump without removing the cambelt but the Aux belt has to come off. The cam belt has to come off when you renew the dephaser though.
You could take the caliper of the car and and refurbish the caliper. Bit of a pain to do so it may be easier to buy a new one, depends on how DIY confident you are.
No money? Then you shouldn't be buying pointless mods that you end up hating. A few days searching on CS would have revealed the Rokkors aren't that good.
Previous owner has chopped the wires somewhere, so whats the problem with running a wire from the rear speakers to the head unit and Skotch Lok to the head unit rear speaker output?
If the car wasn't fitted with rear speakers from the factory then there will be no loom (Cost saving) . You will have to run new wire to them. Make sure you get the polarity right as well.
No, it was loose with the original mount, probably been untouched since the car was built. Also changed the mount to the oe one whilst it was all apart. To make sure it doesn't come loose again I used threadlock when screwing the stud back into the gearbox.
Some say OE top mounts are good enough , I have no problem with them and do a few trackdays. Others change them for solid/fixed ones for what reason, I don't know. Never heard of uprated Powerflex types though.
It not necessarily the rubber mount that is at fault, the stud that screws into the top of the gearbox and up through the centre of the mount can come loose, as it was on mine
It is a Renault dealer thats selling it so all should be perfect for him should he buy it, the warranty helps as well. By the sound of it it will be a good 'un as main dealers don't usually put 7 year old cars on thier forecourt for sale. A bit of negotiation on the asking price and a major...
Trying to buy a perfect car that is at least 6 years old for £3.5K and is also a Renault cannot be done, some compromise will have to be done. I find the For Sale section of the relevant Forum is usually the best place to buy, enthusiast sellers tend to tell you the good points and the...
Had mine done by Auto windscreens through insurance, no problems and took about 30 mins. The're easy to change apparently including removing the the old goo.
I would expect the dealer to fix the warning light, as a renault dealer, he should. If you like the car soo much i don't see a problem. You should get a warranty as well. Depends on the price as well.
It's not the top mount mate. It's just a rubber coated flange to stop the suspension strut falling out of the turret. To change it just undo the nut inside. Should be a £2 or£ 3 but knowing Main dealers they will be charging £10.
You'll only need a 5litre pack of engine oil, Although the total sump capacity is 5.1L you won't be able to extract all the old 5.1L's, some will be trapped around the oil gallerys so no more than 5L will go back in.
