He's assuming that the rent will cover these charges with a slight top up if necessary. It's the capital growth were talking about. Only problem is that prices aren't rising at the moment.
There is a house that has gone on the market round the corner from me at the same price it was at the top...
In that case, I would sell the car and get on the ladder now if you can. Flats are the hardest things to sell at the moment as getting a mortgage for first time buyers is so difficult. If you can get a mortgage, you can haggle a good bargin so why wait?
BTW, you car is lush :D
I would not like to be saddled with an £80-90k mortgage on wages of under £20k :dead:. All you home owners out there will know that the running of a property (all utilities, food etc) is as expensive as the mortgage.
Great you will have you own home, but what sort of life will you have if you...
Ste take no offence here but how do you propose to move out on your current salary? What sort of job do you do? Is there a promotion soon or are you on an apprenticeship etc (I started my career again at 29!!!!)?
If there is:
1. little chance of your salary increasing or
2. you aren't going...
Just daydreaming at the moment.
If I changed my exhaust for something like a Milltek cat back one, changed the air filter (not sure which one to go for), would I notice any difference in the performance?
Then add in an RStuner map as well. Again I don't really know enough about the changes...
This ^^^
It is also an exciting place to be even at low speeds. A lot of hot hatches are boring unless they are being nailed all the time. Prime example being the Focus ST I drove recently. Loved the car but would never change my 197 for one even though the ST is faster and more relaxing to drive.
I almost choked reading that but for the wrong reasons :S. Try finding a flat for £110k anywhere near a city down sarf. In London, you can double it and still struggle.
This is the most sensible thing written, providing you can get the mortgage. There are not that many opportunities to get a good jump onto the housing ladder. In real terms, once you are on, it matters less whether the prices go up or down for moving as your property will follow suit. When you...
Isn't the chassis on a 1*2 modified & strengthened compared to a standard clio? I don't know the answer but would assume it was. Therefore even sorting out the engine, brakes and suspension does not make a conversion anywhere near as good or safe as the real thing.
I'm not knocking...
The Megane is something else :D. I remember reading from an Evo article or something similar that the FRS rarely makes its quoted power and the Megane is usually above its quoted figure.
Wonder if you get free rattles in the Megane too?
BTW, what is the RSTuner map? Is is a physical chip or a map that gets loaded onto your existing ecu?
Also is it worth having on its own and what are its all round abilities (ie. performance fuel economy etc)
Sorry for all the questions :o
Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure who the mapper works for but my mechanic is a wizard with cars and if he says the mapper is good, I believe him.
In the end though, I doubt I will have this done.
