If you want a powerful Netbook look at the Asus 1215N. Dual core Atom CPU and nVidia ION2 chipset. Not cheap at just over £400 but a serious piece of kit.

Going off topic slightly, I remember reading that you were wondering what to do with your 197 a few months ago. Obviously you sold it. It was such a minter so why did you get rid of it?

Auto lights and auto wipers are not standard on a 197 but cruise control is. Don't buy one if you are worried about fuel consumption. Go and drive one is my advice.

If you don't get that screen then you can't have done a Startup Repair. Startup Repair will do a Fixboot & FixMBR for you as part of the process. Agreed that you need to ensure that you are booting from the DVD. do you get the option to press a key (usually esc) to enter boot options?

64 bit and 32 bit aren't compatible (certainly for drivers). Haven't tried doing a restore that way.

Laptop is shagged!!!!! Have tried all the suggesttions mentioned in the thread and a few others like leaving the battery out for a few hours to clear CMOS. No worries as it isn't mine and cutomer can return it. Thanks all

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD and select Startup Repair. Windows will look for the operating system on the hard disk and work backwards from there. No user action needed after you kick the repair off. If this fails, you can reinstall Windows 7 over the existing build by booting from the Windows...

I took all the RAM out and the hard drive too but no change. In case I wasn't clear when pressing the power button it does one slow flash (lights up green) and that's it. Can't think what's wrong with it and the internet isn't much help!!!!! Never mind.

I only drove a 182 once and couldn't get on with the driving position. Had my 197 over a year now and love it. Having read the forums alot, you will get a good or a bad car. Renault don't seem to make anything in the middle. Gearbox is great and never baulks. Car kangaroos when cold but only...

Thanks guys Will check to see if extra RAM is installed and post back. I did download the manual but it doesn't offer any tips if you can't boot at least to the BIOS screen. Happy new year

Hi all Got a Sony Vaio from a customer that won't boot. When pressing the power button it flashes green once and that's it. Tried it on mains only, and on battery only and it's the same. Any ideas? Thanks

As you know, 197/200s have a 2 cans of foam in case you have a puncture. I haven't used mine and the car is now 4 years old. Will it still work?

I find the flatspot at 2.5k not 3.5k in my 197

Hi all I have had to re-install itunes on my laptop as part of testing a problem I was having with my iphone (that's another story) and I set my phone up as a new phone and then restored from a backup I had from the old itunes. Now I can't sync my apps etc, which I expected as itunes has...

I will do. I love my 197 but having not driven a 200 can't compare them. Having just bought a new(er) car for the wife, I won't be changing mine for quite a while.........
