Matteh as Mike said you need to unscrew it where it joins the rack, if its spinning your more than likely turning the wrong part - the control arm itself. If you imagine the arm has a ball on the end, you need to undo the 'socket' bit. I imagine on a valver it's gonna have been on 10+ years so...
Who are you refering to exactly? Pah - If I collected the Clio DCI 100 clutches/gearbox's and the Laguna 1.6/1.8 box's I'd changed, I'd have about 8 stacked up by my ramp. Thats proof enough for me, compare that to the 0 DCI 65 and 0 DCI 80 boxes I've changed. They're suited to munching motorway...
2003 DCI with remap, mechanically sound (few fire rings chuffing nowt major yet)
Could do with 2 car park dinks taking out, tiny dink in front bumper, few bonnet stone chips it'd be mint. Just way overdue a wash.
How many miles you done Rollo? Usually signs are leaky shocks aswell as cracked, fractured and broken springs. Noisy shock tops etc etc.
Put new shocks/springs all round on a 100k Clio even if the old ones look okay, and aren't leaking and you'd notice a difference, they just wear like...
Ah right sorry chap. DS2500s on the fronts probably your first thing I'd say.
Strip + well setup/tracked Coilovers after that
Edit- You going all out for it or just more of a weekend toy sort of thing?
Dan have you spoke to J11ase (sp) I think its spelt he's had a fair bit of stuff done to his 197.
Smash the honeycombe out the cat is a gippo fix rather than a replacement.
Needs a replacement hazard switch mate, common problem on Clios the plastics as cheap as it gets.
The rear fog light issue, you need to clean up the earth for the rear light clusters, and clean up all the block plugs going onto the rear light clusters, get all the rust out, and WD40 them.
Dodgy fuel pump by the sounds of it not sure if you have to have it timed/marked up on them depending if a Specialist did the job or a back street garage. For the time being get a hot air gun up the intake pipe and fire away
Clogged fuel tank sender maybe? Lift pump Hence the spluttering...
As Edde says clean your earthing points for the rear light clusters and tighten the terminals in the block plugs, your earths will be corroded clean them up really well, and get some WD40 in there.
Haha Michael its back to haunt you ;)
Whats 3 litre TDI A4s do they do? - one with twin exhausts saw one giving a Focus ST a lot of hassle on the A45 this morning
Renault sell them for £40+ so anything less than that - they've 'upgraded' them again to a more well made coil though recently.
Try ebay for £40 you'll get 4 rather than 1 just taking a chance with the longevity of them.
Eh? VVT solenoid will be on your 172 head not the espace one. From what your saying sounds like your only using the Espace manifolds and bottom end? Why not leave it connected, are you definitely on about the VVT solenoid?
Sure you don't mean the VVT de-phaser? You can leave that on aswell
Simple answer is brake pads metal to metal Mark? Thats the most common thing with brakes grumbling, although you should also hear, and feel, terrible grinding screeching noises.
What was wrong with your calipers the first time round?
