one a country road one day a few years ago when i had a 106gti there was a pheasant stood in the middle of the road on the white lines, i tried to swerve round it but as there was snow at the side of the road (snakes pass) i could only go so far, as im going past the bird it jumps forward into...
all gtis came with the same 1.6 16v 120bhp engine the earlier models (with bump strips down side and cloth interior) under the skin are the same, ran quite a few on various rolling roads and found most made a few bhp above the 120 factory figure. the later 2000+ gtis started to come with egr...
i had a 106gti for the last 5 years with breating mods nothing major just the usual it was 140bhp at fly and removed spare (full size) wheel i never went up against a 172 but i mate bought a 182ff and managed to pull a few lengths on me from rolling start on long straight roads, i actually...
my wife bought a new 65bhp dci in september and averages 63mpg its nippy enough but around town but on motorways lacks power, friend just sold his ford racing puma for a dci 80bhp it has a bit more poke and different cooler, i think the 80bhp offers best value for money and should take the extra...
make sure you look at a wet kit and use a progressive controller, can be set up to squirt in stages reducing stress on compenents and helping traction.
yeah would be good to see the other rr results, is there a thread on the gti forum so we ca see what they ran?
im putting my 182 on the rr on 1 dec i have panel filer and btb and also a std 182 is running (along with 13 other cars) will post them up when done.
i have my rr figures for past 2...
is the samco really a bigger bore? if running std airbox and performance filter the connections at either end (air box/throttle body) are the same diameter so if the samco is a mm or so bigger it still the same diameter bore entering the engine.
is any gain more likely down to the smoother...
if your worried about heat soak in the alloy pipe wrap it with some heat proof wrap that will help reflect the heat and stop it soaking in.
if you have the filter tucked behind the wheel i dont think that should be a big problem as long as has arch liner and dont forget he's not using his car...
samco say their induction hose is larger diameter on the website but as the pipe from air filter box and inlet into throttle body is still the same size i dont see how there can be any gains.
are they worth the £70?
ihad the same dileema last year, tst drove a few ctr's at local dealers and was tempted with one of the end of run anniversary models red carpet, different buckets and tinted rear glass as std. the problems are that the paint is thin and just not finished very well, in the wet it can be a bit...
not sure what you mean AstoN i removed my valve and blocked the vacum pipe but i take it you mean you actually disconnected the pipe from the air box? if you did then yeah the induction noise is quite loud but i removed the valve but left the cold air feed in so the 2nd feed is at least a little...
sounds like they gained some interesting r+d and at the end of the day and will help shed some light on future engine developments which in the long run we can gain from.
i liked the video for what it is, seeing an engine most of us know (all be it with a lot of mods) revving and just when you...
when temp is cold and car not been used my 182 has a slight belt noise, not a squeal like fanbelt just a slightly pitched noise for about 15 seconds then it goes. had the dealer check all belts and tensions.
do a search on btb they seem to match what your after they only did a ltd batch which are now all sold but i know a guy on here called springer is selling his i think as selling his car.
milltek would be my second choice heard good things about them
also the other front pe2 was only 1 month old as well so when had to replaced my punctured offside a month later they will both have equal tread depth.
there was a few threads about this it is actuall a fault that they can sort for you under warranty, when you set your alarm and it sometimes beeps the alarm is still getting an ignition signal, basically they say if you get turn key off jump out and set alarm quickly. sometimes mine does it, i...
ahh yeah hadnt seen it though the windows just saw the red one, but my last car was a 106gti that i had for about 5 years so i know sybez's car from my old club.
as far as the law on different tyres on same axel i thought it only related to size (and in the old days radial/cross-ply) i deal with some stuf like this at work and as far as im aware its ok as far as the law goes to run different brands of tyre on the same axel otherwise it would be included...
i think makavelli runs a btb with de-cat havnt heard it myself though all depends what your after, i like my system a little on the quieter side so i have kept me cat in but for more sound/power a de cat would give you that.
i have a btb seems quite a few of the 11 or so made have found their way upto the north west considering they are based and sold through companies based in southern england.
when he says rare i think he means the number of 182 systems built and not the company itself.
glad your happy though...
dont do it leon, just got the car as you wanted.
unless your thinking about buying something very cool in which case i reserve the right to change my advice lol.
the ones above are diff though the spacing is illegal, sorry mate i saw the link to text being 3/4 size but the drop down menu below which was for the actual plate itself (not the text) only quoted full size so the text would be 3/4 but on a full size background, wouldnt be a big job to cut them...
