help please.
i've had my car to pieces today trying to remove the inlet manifold. not a huge problem but there is one bolt that i cant work out how to remove. there's not enough gap for a socket etc..
Matt - Whats a stilson?? The bolt is under the thing that connects the engine the the car (very technical) on the drivere side...
To make things worse its started to rain!

I'm in the process of taking my inlet manifold off my 03 172. I've taken most of the bolts out but there is one last one on the drivers side that i cannot get too!! looking directly at the engine its on the left side and bolts along the manifold.. how do i get this sucker out!!

if i use the gasket as a guide but stay 0.5mm inside - will this be ok?

does the inlet manifold need to be done both ends?

are there any gains in repeating this process with the exhaust manifold?

just to confirm -
Step 1 - Take inlet off head.
Step 2 - Match inlet with gasket and scribe inlet holes. (ie use origional gasket as a template)

I'll be fitting some new springs to my 172 next week. is it worth adding new bushes whilst the wheels are off - if so any suggestions who to go for and who to aviod??!!

Just got some PI Springs - Not expecting them to be awesome (as they're only cheap) but will i notice an inprovement in handling??? any one have them fitted?
will post a pic tomorrow. yours looks great but i didn't want to spend too much. the evo sport IK comes with an 80mm opening that attaches to the elbow. The trouble is that its a soft fixing. The silicone elbow fits in nice and snug but a jubilie clip just squeezes them together. i pushed them...
its called an 'evo sport' carbon fibre induction kit. comes with a 1m of ally cold air feed. look it up on ebay. got mine for 60 big ones. you'll need a silicone elbow as it wont fit the origional bend. you'll also have to attach the IK to the elbow befor the install. I used four very small self...
ive just fitted a closed ik that i got off ebay. 60 quid delivered. you will need a silicone elbow to fit it but i think its worth it. same benifits as a BMC but less that half the price.
